Hello, ToS community! My name is Chels, and I'm another newbie coming in this round! I'm friends with Ryah (who has said all sorts of charming things about you all ♥), so I'm going to give this a go, even if panfandom is not my normal scene. /nerves&things


ANYWAY, I'm bringing in a post-canon (Fire Lord) Zuko from Avatar: The Last Airbender (TV show, not the movie, which obvs Did Not Happen). He goes through a lot of ~character development~ and is basically a big walking spoiler, but to be specific (to anyone who is familiar with the series), he is from roughly halfway through The Promise comics, shortly after visiting his father in the Fire Nation prison. Angst angst angst daddy issues angst mommy issues angst.

Some brief background facts:

• 17 years old
• Is a FIREBENDER. :D Basically, he can manipulate fire and heat. He can also redirect lightning, but unlike some other firebenders (such as his cray sister and kooky uncle), he cannot actually bend lightning himself. He is also MADSKILLED with twin broadswords.
• Grew up as crown prince and has been the Fire Lord (king, ruler, w/e) for a year now, attempting to redeem the Fire Nation p much by himself...His father and grandfather and great-grandfather kind of screwed things up with the whole "we're gonna CONQUER THE WORLD, mwahahaha!" stint.
• Was banished by his jerk father when he was just 13 years old, just because he had the gall to speak ~out of turn~ like "hey guys, maybe we SHOULDN'T use our own soldiers as meat shields..." His father was the one who gave him the (very conspicuous) burn scar on his face. Such rude, so harshness, wow.
• Used to be very, VERY angry at pretty much everyone and everything and himself and the WORRRRLD, but he grew up a lot during the show; he still has a temper on him, but he's found a lot of peace in learning to live for himself and not for some obsession to win his father's elusive love. He's obsessed with his MIA Mama (parent issues alert, parent issues alert), but there's not really much he can do about that here, so dwi Zuko.
• Can be a little rough around the edges when it comes to straightforwardness/tempers/etc. but sincerely means well.

Already posted my PPP here, and although I don't have a Plurk yet, I'm currently getting the lowdown, soooo I might set one up. If so, I'll edit it in. I'm looking forward to meeting and playing with everyone! (Also, looks like we're roomies, Captain America!)

I tend to enjoy spinoff/expanded material once I've experienced the core of a series, so when I get to that point, I'll probably read the comics too. As for Lost Odyssey, I've never played that one in particular, but I do love me some jrpgs. I mostly play the (not obscure at all...) Final Fantasy games.

Brill! I love Korra and Asami too ♥, but fslkdsjfs Iroh and Mai and my feelings. SHOULD YOU DECIDE TO USE THEM, I, you know, would not object.

YES I ADMIT I saw the Zuko reserve and went "...Oh man, should I app Iroh or Mai?" RL's a little crazy for me at the moment, but I'll see what I think I can manage once I have a better feel for my schedule. ToS is a pretty relaxed game, so... it might be a Thing!

Me toooo. I swear, the funny moments never stop being funny, no matter how many times I watch them. Sokka's dumb jokes and Zuko's fail attempts to be profound and Toph nicknames and everything -- good, all the time. And the heartstring-tugging...Agreed 100% that everyone should see it and love it because it's awesome. I've been poking at Ryah recently like "hey Ryah I bet you would like this hey Ryah watch this hey Ryah complex redemption arcs hey Ryah", just, you know, hopefully less annoyingly.

I will def think about iiiit. I have more experience with Ahsoka (in that I've played her before in a game, but have only briefly psl'd Leia) -- but I loooove them both. If I determine I have time for a second, they're probably the direction I lean~

Most def! I sucked in my little sister, which was fun -- we finished marathonning it a week or so ago. Fire Nation was definitely closest to my heart too -- guh, I love those kinds of characters so much. Bless them and their issues. As much as I love the whole show, Book 3 was definitely my favorite. And will do!

yes, book 3 spoke to my fire nation love with all of its fuckedupness. oh gosh, that just reminded me: i got my mother into watching it, too! i had the dvds and we just watched episodes one-by-one together, she got really into it. swear, man, that show is great for all ages. atla love!

Yessss, it was the best. :') And AWESOME. My parents' were watching on occasionally when my sister and I were DVD'ing it up -- they seemed entertained but sadly didn't latch on as hard as my sister did, mostly because they missed big chunks at a time. I do love roping them in, though -- I successfully managed to turn them all into hardcore Doctor Who fans, which I was pretty proud of. Fandoming families, yay!
