6. Slow Dancing ♥ Nothing like music to sweep the rest of the world away, take a few minutes on the dance floor and shake that stress away.

Everything was a game to them. Playing hide and seek in the context of a universal playground. What mattered most of all, that the wins and losses continued on. Though if you asked what the current score was, that might not be so easily agreed upon. Other games too; there were so many to choose from.

"Really, Rory? Is that a name you picked out of a hat?"

Devi had been reading actually, one of the rare times that she actually walked around with her nose in a book so his surprise attack was exactly that. She looked up with wide eyes in time to see him bounce to his feet and recoiled a little, but his hands drew her forward again. Their lips came together with a muffled protest from Devi; a moment later she pulled her head back, breaking the kiss and looking at him like he was mad. Luckily, he is.

"Dorian! Wha-?"

[Devi's smile split into a crooked grin, green eyes bright and glinting with mischief. She pulled Helena off the single step porch and into the lukewarm mist.]

Playful is good for rain. Specifically. Plus, it won't last long and when the dirt curls you can come crunch it with me.

[Her nose crinkled happily in anticipation as her hair started matting down, the drops of rain rolling off to start wetting the ribbed tanktop she wore.]

The madman smiled brightly at her from the spot he stood, his clothes climging to him in ALL of the worst ways.

"Come Helena~ Dance with me. It is fun, you can enjoy yourself too!"

Whatever this activity was, Spock was extremely wary of its usefulness.

"Is this a human tradition?"

It wasn't that he was stalling. Spock hadn't actually decided whether or not he would partake in the activity, given Devi's enthusiasm in teaching him. However, every part of the instructions she described baffled him. How did these rules come about? What preponderance did one need to be in to invent this set of instructions? Did humans find enjoyment in rock throwing, jumping and collecting rocks again?

It seems the Nysgods thought of everything. Their lovely indoor gardens - or at least this particular one - was watered naturally. By some degree of 'natural', Bert supposed. They'd been out for a stroll and suddenly there had come a low peal like thunder and then the fake sky was dripping most enthusiastically. Like a sudden summer storm.

Oh good gods.

Her gown was going to be ruined. Clinging and mayhap a bit see through, which was always pleasant, but ruined all the same. Or so he figured, rain and fancy gowns never mixed.

"Man Jesus, and they say yeh can count on the weather here!" He was shrugging off his coat as quickly as he could - already he felt his hair beginning to cling to his face.

The data we could collect in such uncharted territory would be fascinating. It is unfortunate that you no longer have your capabilities for flight, or carrying passengers.

[ Another member of the crew probably would take offense to that last statement, but Spock wouldn't expect it from the Enterprise. It was the same reason that at the moment, he didn't mind the short yet respectable distance between them. She was human now, but having spent so many years as a ship with highly advanced technology that depended on logic -- he still never expects her to react as a human would. ]

"Kind of. Found in school yard's and on side walks. If you had tape, you could make one on the floor, linoleum or hardwood or something. The history doesn't matter. Here. Take the rock. Throw the rock." She held her hand out, rock cradled in her fingertips to drop into the palm that she fully expected to be turned over. Play.

"It would be advisable to seek shelter when it rains."

Spock wasn't budging towards Dorian, or the mud. "And I am not aware of the shackles you speak of." He wasn't wearing any invisible ones if that's what Dori means. Not that it would be logical for the vampire to assume he was wearing invisible shackles in the first place.

He brings a hand up to shield his eyes from the mist. It was not pleasing to Spock that his hair was getting wet.

"Perhaps you would like to demonstrate?"

He gestured openly towards her and the chalk. How easily certain species amused themselves. It was however, also a rather creative talent the species had.

"i am dead, and you are stronger then human. What is a little rain!" he laughed like the mad man he is throwing out his arms. "COME ON! LIVE A LITTLE!" He called out joy laced through his tone. Hes long since stopped sucking down the lemon balm Marcus has him taking to even his moods. So... Have fun.

"Emotions, stress, life! They ALL shackle you down. Cast them away and be one with yourself."

Devi squinted an eye at him, wary of the dance he was so well known for but she couldn't expect anything else with it being so foreign. One stone was slipped into her pocket and Devi moved to stand at the beginning, tossing the other out lightly.

It landed on the sixth block, so Devi hopped through the first three blocks on one foot and jumped to straddle the line between the fourth and fifth. The stone was retrieved and Devi hopped the rest of the grid, keeping to the one foot per block rule.

"Once you're at the end, it's the next players turn. When you come back, you start at the end you stopped on." She walked over and held the stone out again. "Simple enough even for an alien to complete."

There was something fascinating about the way Dorian enjoyed the rain that made Spock wonder if he was miscalculating something. He let his hand fall to his side, extending his palm upward and allow it to catch a small puddle of water.

"I disregard emotions on a regular basis, Mr. Carver." Every second of every day, more like. And quite purposefully.

He always had loved the rain even before the mirror was shattered. The stick in the mud he had been alive used to love to dance in the garden with his wife in the rain even if he always fell ill after. And true to that now, free from illness or worry he loves it all the same.

"Stop!" He held a finger straight up to Spock's nose, those green eyes wide, chaotic.

"Stop that, stop thinking and just DO." He spoke poking Spock's nose before turning to another spin.

Spock walked up to first set of boxes, eyeing it still with uncertainty. But he take the stone from Devi's hand.

Looking out across the board, he was about to throw the stone before he stopped and just stared at Devi. "You are insisting that I participate?" One was supposed to learn about the cultures of other species, but this game seemed so ... illogical. Where was the tactical thinking?

The best one could do was optimize for hitting a number that eliminated the necessity of imbalance.

So Spock dropped the stone right in front of him, onto the square marked "2."

Did he just?

Yes. Yes he did.

No, he couldn't possibly have.

No, no he really did.

"I'm afraid another time will have to do. One filled with less ..." Spock looked around him. "...precipitation."

And quickly, so very briskly, Spock walked way, even throwing his head back to glance and make sure Dorian wasn't about to poke him again.

Vampires are very curious indeed.

When Spock looks back he waved and smiled. Byebye buddy!

She can't help but look him over and note how his clothes are clinging to him in all the worst ways. It was quite the sight really and an amused smile curved her lips.

"Dancing in the rain. I do not think I have done that since I was a child. So what dance do you propose we share?"

[That glint of mischief was rather intriguing and made Helena wonder what thought was passing through Devi's mind at that moment.]

I must say, it is rather enjoyable to crunch the dirt.

[She smiled warmly as her always inexplicably shiny hair was given more sheen as the rain was matting her hair, and begin to dampen the white shirt she wore.]

[A hundred different ideas ran through Devi's head most of the time. For all the calm she showed, there was a storm churning in there. It was the artist part that she enjoyed so much. Now that they were out properly, Devi stepped in and put an arm around Helena's waist and pulled her into a waltz timed beat.]

But better still to dance.

[Devi's grin widened and her eyebrows rose and fell as if to say watch out. There was a small displacement of air as she tapped into her ki. In mid dance step, Devi lifted off and kept rhythm. They were no more then a half foot off the ground so that if HG flipped out, there wouldn't be far to fall. Assuming she trusts Devi enough, the Girl with lead her into a dance into the sky.]
