Unlike Dorian, Helena had always enjoyed dances. She actually knew both men's and women's parts to several dances, largely because her sister had always made her dance the men's part when she needed rehearsal before a ball or masquerade she was attending. Knowing both parts to dances did come in handy depending upon who her dance partner was. Though she let Dorian dance the lead here. She did tend to miss those balls and masquerades of old, but she did enjoy whenever she was able to embrace them in the modern time.
Helena noticed that curiously focused look he had, and it did pique her interest. As he dipped her back, she gazed back into his eyes, some curiosity filling her own. She did wonder what he was thinking about. Even as she wondered about this, the thoughts weren't distracting her from the dance. There was a lot to be said about muscle memory.
"Is there something on your mind, darling?" The term of endearment was not out of the ordinary. Helena tended to call anyone she liked and trusted 'darling'. And, of course, as it was raining, her long hair was now wet, strands of it sticking to her neck. Her blouse was also quite wet and clinging to her thin frame.
