Event: The Apology
Hello, players.
As many of you have probably detected by now, a big change is about to come to the game setting. How the setting changes, however, is going to depend on you.
A few weeks back, Gaila contacted Skokan regarding the candidates' placement in Gebo. Skokan implied that if the candidates apologized for hacking the network, they might conceivably be moved to another location. Many, many things happened in between, but now Skokan's re-opening the conversation and, at Ben Braeden's urging, is even bringing up the possibility of giving the candidates their own land. On Day 230 (February 14), he will be visiting Gebo. He's told Gaila that if the candidates sign an apology letter, he will speak to the Council on their behalf.
So what does this mean for you? It means you need to decide if your character is willing to sign the letter. Below are subthreads, one for those who were involved in the hacking and those who were not involved in the hacking. All candidates, regardless of involvement, will be invited to sign the letter. Please comment with your character's journal and state whether or not they will be signing.
How many characters sign--and which characters sign--will determine the outcome of Skokan's visit. Please comment to this thread with your characters' decisions by Thursday, February 13
And now some FAQs...
My character wasn't here for the hacking. What does this mean for them?
Characters who weren't present for the hacking still have the option to sign the apology letter. Their signatures (or lack of signatures) will sway the outcome, one way or another.
My character will do everything in their power to get others to sign the apology. What does this mean?
Play it out. Just make sure all results are in by the deadline.
My character will do everything in their power to stop others from signing the apology. What does this mean?
Play it out. Just make sure all results are in by the deadline.
What's the precise content of the apology?
In much fancier terms than this, the apology states that the undersigned regret their actions against the royal family and apologize for doing it.
Do candidates have to sign in blood or anything icky like that?
No. They sign with a regular old quill pen in regular, old ink. Candidates are free to run any magical or scientific tests on both. There's nothing out-of-the-ordinary about them.
Will Skokan be watching the signatures?
Yes. Watch the comms for more on that.
I have more questions!
Please comment to the appropriate thread below. Again, we are trying to shift away from asking mod questions on plurk, so everyone can see the answers.
May the odds be ever in your favor!
