This was an entirely strange place for the Viking warrior to find himself in. While he wasn't happy about being snatched from his world the way he had, he couldn't completely complain when he'd intended to leave anyway. Or at least that had been his intention before Siggy had told him the gods had given him a second chance. While there was truth to her words, he wasn't exactly certain he could win back the trust of his brother and fellow kinsmen. He had betrayed them all, and for what? To try and step out of his brother's shadow. Jealousy could poison a heart far quicker than anything else.
So with the change in location, Rollo had begun exploring the new land as any good warrior would do. He was on guard, of course. He'd sailed West, he knew there were untold dangers within his own world, let alone a world he did not know. He eventually found himself at a beach. The water called him, but he had no ship to sail in. Still, he sat down in the sand and gazed out at the water, letting his mind drift. He'd completely lost track of time as he sat there. He was there long enough for day to begin turning into night, and that's when he got the surprise of his life.
"By the gods," he spoke in surprise as the water began to turn various colors. He hadn't seen anything like that before except for the lights that would dance in the sky in his own world. And shortly thereafter, he noticed the sand itself was roiling. Leaping to his feet, Rollo stared wide-eyed down at the sand, thinking some beast was beneath the sand. "What is this?" He expected some beast to leap up to the surface and attack him, but it never came.
