Hey all, Lily here to tell you that with the recent release of X-Men: Days of Future Past, the good professor is going for a canon update.
On the morning of Day 270 (June17th), Charles will be struck by lightening while wandering about. By early afternoon on day 273 (June 25th), he will return a very different man than what most will remember him as. Where he was once good, hopeful and optimistic, Charles will be a very wounded spirit; addicted to drugs(he'll be bringing back with him an emergency 'treatment' kit with heavy narcotic pain killers), and be quite apathetic with most things in general. He will retain his memories of his time in Niflheim, but since he will also be coming back without his telepathy, memories and friendships will be fuzzy for a day, or two.
Anyone who has seen the movie will understand why, and for those who don't ever plan on seeing it can read here why Charles is so different.
Also, as the movie was just released last Friday, I will be putting most stuff behind a cut to save for spoilers over the next few weeks and only up to the point of his new entry point which will be mid movie; a point I decided on for my own sadistic reasons, and to allow whoever wants to be apart of his road to recovery.
