She stared out at the sunrise, giving a small smile as she felt the companion beside her stir. Shifting over, Selene rolled to her side, offering him a bit more room, even if the bed was larger than what they had in Gebo or the Wyld.

"You're awake," she said, giving him the once over. One never knew how the morning would be responded to.

Devon grumbled and rolled over so he could bury his face into his pillow. He had nothing against mornings, but at the moment he just didn't want to move or even consider getting out of bed. It wasn't very often that he got to feel comfortable and safe.

"Do I have to be awake?"

"I'm sure I can put you back to sleep if you ask me nicely." She teased him, scooting closer to him. "The sun's coming up. It's actually kind of pretty if you manage to open your eyes."

"Ugh. All the more reason to not get up."

He'd learned his lesson pretty early to be very careful not to immediately open his eyes when he woke up. The sun was probably shining right in on him too. While that would feel nice on his back, it definitely wouldn't feel nice on his eyes.

"I'm certainly not discouraging the idea of lying in bed." She said, reaching out to shut the curtain. Already the light was making her nervous and her survival instincts, even in an alien environment prevailed.

"Hell, if you want to stay in bed all day, I'll be happy to join you."

He snorted and glanced up a little bit when he heard the curtain close, though his eyes were still closed just to be safe.

"I'm not sure I want to be quite that lazy. I'm just comfortable right now."

"Is it really laziness or just extreme bonding?" She suggest, giving a small laugh. "Maybe you are better off in bed? Maybe today doesn't need us at all and we should just stay exactly where we are?"

He tipped his head slightly and look at her, or at least looked in her direction.

"Here? I'm not sure why today would need me."

It wasn't like he had a job here or anything. There were no tasks he needed to accomplish either.

She grinned, "So does this mean you'd rather be here with me?" Selene asked him, leaning on her hand as she looked over him.

"You are always so coy about these things, but I want to know that you are happy with this situation..."

A smile danced lightly across his lips.

"I'm happy. Probably happier than I've been in a while really."

She grinned at him, pleased with the response. Her hand reaching out to caress his cheek. "Me too." She places a kiss to his cheek. "Would it be okay if I asked you to stay with me more often? I like having you here with me at night..."

"I think I'd like that. I can't promise it'll be all the time though."

As much as he loved having someone that cared about him and wanted to spend time with him, he was used to being on his own. There were going to be times when he needed some of that space.

"I know and I don't expect it all the time. There are other things that I do that need my attention." She smiled. "I think I'd just like waking up some times with you here."

She linked her hand with his. "It's not like we're attached at the hip."

"That would be a little bit creepy if we were," he teased lightly.

It actually said a lot that he was teasing her at all. He didn't view her as just anyone or somebody that he needed to impress or be professional around.

"It would make dressing and undressing a bit more awkward." Selene laughed, enjoying his teasing. She placed an arm around his waist, pulling him a bit closer to her. "You'd get sick of me so much quicker than you already will."

He draped a loose arm around her.

"Yeah, maybe, but I could probably manage to tune you out if I needed to."

"Don't you do that already?" She teased him, rubbing her hand up his back.

"Not quite yet, no."

It was so strange to be touched by someone else, especially when he wasn't completely falling apart. It felt really good.

"Yet. I like that." She grinned, placing a kiss on his brow. "I'll try not to wear out that privilege."

She was affectionate, especially in the morning.

His eyes flickered closed when her lips touched his skin. It was so weird and so wonderful. He skimmed his knuckles up her arm until he reached her shoulder and could easily find her face so he could run his fingers over her jawline.

She enjoyed touches from him. It seemed to mean more and aided his ability to know what she looked like and how she responded. It was more intimate. "I can tell you are starting to like my idea of staying in bed."

"Wasn't it kind of my idea to stay in bed?"

Not that he particularly wanted to take credit for it, but he had been the one that hadn't wanted to move.

"Maybe it was?" She grinned. "Maybe I plan to steal credit from you." Selene laughed. "What are you going to do about it?"

"Absolutely nothing."

He didn't like to take credit over much of anything.
