It didn't do wonders for Gabriel's mood, either. He'd been confused enough about ending up in this place, without walking into his room to find a Winchester with a Cheshire grin. Being in bedrooms that weren't his and looking smug about it was his thing.

"I didn't call for room service, kid. Sling your hook."

Sam opened his mouth to ask what that even meant, which was a little dishonest since the sense of it was obvious, but nothing came out. Naturally. He frowned, but shrugged, crossing his arms.

What was Gabriel going to do to him? Turn him into a car again?

"Yeah, that really wasn't a request."

He strolled in, kicking the door shut behind him. The not talking was new - usually the Winchester boys were more than happy to provide their wide range of sarcastic quips and criticisms of his lifestyle. He found himself a wall to lean on with all the nonchalance he could muster, and raised his eyebrows.

"Gonna explain what you're doing in here? If you've started another Apocalypse I'm staying out of it."

Sam glared at him, but stayed on principle. He was done running away from things. He wanted nothing more than to throw out a sarcastic reply, but again, nothing came. So he settled for shaking his head no.

Okay, now the not talking was getting weird.

"Cat got your tongue, kid?"

He wasn't particularly worried by Sam's presence in his room - as far as he knew, there was still nothing much Sam could do to hurt him, and he didn't seem to be there with that intention. The more pressing concern was finding out what his intention was... which was a little tricky without two-way verbal communication.

There was only one explanation: Gabriel had done this. It was a little less clever than some of his gags, but then, Sam thought, maybe the pun on "gag" was enough. He glared at the angel and sat on the bed, refusing to move. If Gabriel was that annoyed by him, he could just... keep being annoyed.

YOU DID THIS he mouthed.

He frowned. That definitely implied that the cat had got his tongue, and apparently the cat in this scenario was him. He wouldn't put it past himself, but he didn't remember doing anything to Sam, and he was fairly sure he'd be gloating if this were his doing.

"Wasn't me, sasquatch. Must have been one of the five million other superpowered beings you've pissed off. Go take it up with them, I wanna... well, actually I don't want to go to sleep. I don't sleep. I just want you to be anywhere other than here. Understood?"
