Glinda hadn't expected to be chosen. She'd wished for it. She'd hoped, prayed and even dreamed of it. But it seemed that she wasn't the one. Not surprising really given the fact there were so very many wonderful people there.

It was like the natural light and bubble had been clean knocked out of the witch after being told that she was going to be sent home. But if she only had one night left before being sent back with no memory of the whole sorry business, there was only one thing that she could do, and it certainly wasn't going to be sitting about moping and feeling sorry for herself.

It was really just an overwhelmment of emotion that caused her to act so irrationally, find the Doctor, fling her arms around him and kiss him.
