And Jax simply closes his eyes and sighs through his nose, his brow knitting in frustration slightly before opening them again.

"You gotta be kiddin' me." He mutters under his breath. He thought he'd get some goddamn peace in this place.

What light flickers from the screen would illuminate the crooked smirk of an old face, but since the film is all but in black and white, that light might not be the most revealing of tools.

"Hardly, boy. I tell you, they've got the order of events all mixed up."

A sigh. Obviously, this old coot's hearing hasn't gone yet.

"Well, old timer, some folks just like a bit of fantasy."

[personal profile] secrettalents 2013-12-07 02:09 am (UTC)(link)
The ears are still as sharp as ever. As big as ever too.

"If they were going to tell a story, they might have done it right." Not to say, accurately. Because that was a bit too hypocritical for even him.

"Where is the drama? Where is the enemy."

A beat as he shifted his old self in the seat and put his feet up in a mirror of his company's.

"The onset of velcro might do wonders for the plot."

"It's a movie about twine." Jax says, pretty exasperated by this point, because seriously?! "I'm pretty sure the amount of twine-related drama is at an all-time zero."

Oh, yes. It gets better.

Emrys waved his gnarled, old hand up at the screen. "Don't be such an unimaginative dunderhead. There's always a story there, you just have to listen to it."

The film slowly changed, the voice of the narration took on a more sinister tone and the shadows in the film shifted to something Alfred Hitchcock like.

goddamn it merlin, stop trolling the biker

Jax rolls his eyes and is about to reply with a sullen 'whatever' and stop talking to the crazy old guy, but...

...Yeah, he caught the change, the shift, out of the corner of his eye and the tone of the backing music becoming harsher and more discordant.

Suddenly, the film has his full attention.

"This wasn't in the last showing..."

can't be helped. sorry. not sorry.

"It is all in how you view the story. Just like I told you."

Actually he probably hadn't said anything about that, but was anyone going to tell the old and last dragonlord anything he didn't want to hear? No.

The History of Twine continues on. All the dialog is the same, but now one can't help but wonder, what are they going to do with that thin, rough line of rope.

Like the icon, but cowskin. :| Also, such troll, very merlin.

[personal profile] brains_before_bullets 2013-12-07 02:28 am (UTC)(link)
"Yeah, well, I ain't viewing it any different."

He closes his eyes, shaking his head as if to try and dislodge the disconcerning feeling he's getting from watching this movie, before growling quietly and moving to stand up.

"Screw this, I'm outta here."

He turns his back onto the older man, the back of the leather cut adorned with a stylised reaper patch with 'Sons of Anarchy' above and 'California' below. He's going to start moving to leave.

tyk. it was a pleasure doing business with you :)

He watched the retreat with a thoughtful expression.

Not so reckless as to hit an old man after all. Well. That certainly proved the man had potential. Smart enough to listen to his instincts too. He would be keeping an eye out for that one.

And of course, now the old man will have the theatre to himself.

Popcorn eating and all.

A pause before he leaves, before turning back to the theatre, calling out.

"Hey! Old timer!" There was no-one else to bug, after all. "If I find out you're one of the bastards that brought me here, you're on my list."

Because he's not entirely convinced that the whole Alfred Hitchcock's "The Twining" wasn't a huge mental act. This mind-reading stuff these Nysgods were supposed to have...

He wasn't happy. And if this old guy was one of them... he wouldn't have a problem doing what he needed to do.
