Some island. The last place we were in was a Temple in the sky.

I wish. They had a lot of gardens and one had a flower that caused some kind of change. I had a .... severe reaction to it.

No kidding. What was it, some kind of horrific breed of hallucinogen? You definitely don't look like a puppet right now, so I'm going to assume they managed to fix you.

No. From the Temple we came to that island. From the island, we came here via sea tunnel.

[That was best he could do for explanation. If she misunderstood, well, there wasn't much that he could do about it. He glanced down at himself as she mentions how he looks, as though he was checking to make sure he was still 'put together'.]

Unfortunately, no. Not a hallucinogen, I was physically changed. Some of the Candidates went around and figured it out, and how to fix everyone. It worked.

Sounds convoluted.

[she just shrugs! It doesn't really matter that much anyway, and she's pretty sure she can find something more on that if she really looks.]

So what was the solution?

You could say that.

Touching the same flower that changed us. Kind of simple sounding, until you realize that there was an endless number of gardens people had to go through to find which one was the 'magical' one.

It was.. interesting.

Equally convoluted. So everything about Niflheim basically leads back to difficult solutions for strange problems that probably shouldn't have come up in the first place. Is that about right?

[Angel gave a lopsided smile.]

Pretty much yeah. On the plus side, when they throw parties, it's really nice parties. Open bar too.

Though I don't know how much good that'd do you..

[He pegged her for about 17..]

Hm. Maybe this place won't be too bad after all. How often are those? [she flicks him a charming little smile, full of devious amusement.]

Probably as much as it'll do you.

[he's about right. But that never stopped her before. Her parties are the best ones around Beacon Hills. They're the talk of the town, really.

Well the last two were for an engagement and then the wedding that followed, so there's really no telling.

[Angel smiled back, lazily and almost coyly, just a tuck of one cheek.]

I doubt it. It takes a lot to get me going.

Apparently. They definitely need more holidays, then - I can tell you that already.

Considering how many people they seem to be finding, I agree. A party is always great for troop morale.

[She was welcome too, after all, Angel did like the attention. As far as the drinking?

I could and have. I don't bother drinking often so when I do, it's a lot.

As long as it stays a party, and not a massacre in disguise.

It hasn't happened yet, but if I had wood to knock on I would.

I don't do parties. I went to the ones here for the bar, honestly. And the tailored suit.

That doesn't really bode well.

[a pause. Because she has to know:] Does anyone have a history of hallucinating around here? Anyone at all?

There's something to be said for tailored suits. But the right guy can look good even without one.

[Angel shrugged. Boding well was never his thing.]

...Not that I know of. We have a few Seers, but I don't think that counts as hallucinations.

No, probably not. Foresight isn't quite the same as seeing things.

[Angel nods to her first statement and flashed a little smirk down at her.]

I don't know if that means you have great taste in handsome men, or if your ex was a pretty jackass.

I'm honest enough with myself to be able to acknowledge that he's a little of both. But like me, he just knows what he likes and how he likes it. We were a match made in heaven.

Good for you. This isn't heaven though. Unless he shows up here, which isn't impossible. I've got people from my home world and so do others.

So what did you do back in Beacon Hills?

I'm a student. [sweetly said.] And every now and then, my otherwise normal life becomes just this side of hellish. But that doesn't really count as something I 'do'.

[Angel would bet money that it would be a life long pattern with her. But that's not his place to say.]

[oh, without a doubt. One does not simply walk away from Banshee Powers.]

Not yet. But that doesn't mean I can't spend every waking moment making sure that I keep my solid As, and get into my number one school of choice.
