That Spock had been unaware of Nyota's presence in Gebo until this very moment was ... astronomically improbable, and despite the Vulcan's internal control, angering. The latter part, the emotional response, he did not understand. Even if such a response was logical, Spock was very aware that the expected emotion in this circumstance, was joy.

It would not be until later, that he would realize that this feeling of anger was pointed not at Uhura, but at himself. In a way, Spock had remained faithful. The Vulcan had shut down any potential misunderstandings with Jane sternly, before their friendship grew into anything more. But despite his own objections towards having emotions, Spock could still feel the tension that drew him and the Captain together, and he had done nothing about it.

But despite the odds, his eyes made no mistake, and he was seeing her fast steps approaching the administrative building. Spock followed.

The communications officer had avoided the network. In part because the idea was just too good. What better way to lure her in than to offer a shiny new mental and verbal exchange filled with the promise of conversation with virtually anyone. Think of all the languages, think of all the stories there. It was a treasure trove of temptation, and Uhura was going to have none of it until she'd gotten her barrings on the world itself.

Too focused on her self appointed task, the woman didn't notice the Vulcan shadow she's acquired. Though she did have the disconcerting feeling of being watched. It was only natural, Nyota reassured herself. And, walking like she had every right, which was the best way to go somewhere you really shouldn't be... sometimes.

Walking as if she had every right to, with her head held high, Uhura went straight into the admin building and picked a room at random. Hoping luck was with her.

Spock followed silently until they'd both entered the building and were out of earshot of the nearest living beings. He'd watched as Uhura stopped at one of the first few doors and made an attempt to enter.

He had a few guesses at her intention, but the Vulcan decided that to conceal himself much longer would generate undesired consequences later. Plus, the best way to find out what her intentions are, were to ask her directly.

Poised and calm, Spock walked straight towards her. His steps were still light — it was his normal tread — but there was unmistakably a figure approaching her now.

Nyota tensed up, it was instinct. She could have cursed herself for that reaction in a hundred languages. But what came out of her mouth was also just instinct.

"Now, look here, mister." The tone being one of great sass, bordering on sarcastic. She assumed it was a Nsygod come to stop her. Until she turned around.

That was when the world dropped out from under her.

He was here too? "Spock." Relief flooded over her. If she were any other person, and he were any other person too, Nyota would have leap physically forward and wrapped her arms around him. But that wasn't their way.

Suddenly that room seemed like the place they had to be.

"It's locked."

Her single word acknowledgment of his existence in this world was returned. "Nyota." And that was their way, and that was all the time that would be spent on their reunion. For now.

Spock examined the handle, estimating the probability that he was strong enough to break it, then multiplying it with the probability that an alarm would sound. Chances of success were low.

"A key will be required." The Vulcan thought back to his trips inside this building during the day, searching for any signs of where security was stationed, or keys may be kept. "I may know where it is, but we should expect security personnel."

A simple hand motion to move and the two of them were heading upstairs, around a corner, and down a hallway. 50 meters away, light from a single room poured out of the windows and into the hall.

Of course it made sense. If people were being plucked out of time and space and she was chosen, it stood to reason that a good number of her crew would be as well. That was a heartening thought for Uhura as she followed the Commander an alien staircase and down a hallway. This place was pretty, she noted that absently.

The idea of security wasn't too terribly bothersome. There had been a stress on the peaceful nature of this world, as well as the knowledge that Spock would hardly let harm befall her easily.

"Any luck, Commander?" Her voice kept low.

Nyota resisted the urge to peek over his shoulder, focusing her attention on keeping an eye out for other surprises.

feel free to actually narrate/make things up about the security and guards!

"I believe the room at the end of the hall is security. However I have not visited this particular building frequently enough to know for certain."

A raised brow and tilt of his head told Uhura that the two of them would need to scout it out.

Rarely is Uhura one of those chosen for an away mission unless there is a linguistic need. But she's been through all the training, and survived more than enough dangerous calls to know how to hold herself. This however, doesn't really give the feeling of immediate danger that landing on the Klingon home world would, just for instance.

What she excels at is communication, and Spock's body language in particular is something she's well versed in. The tilt and the eyebrow are more than enough to send her tiptoeing forward, just as silent as he could be, but somewhat smaller of a figure, and thus, with the better odds of gaining a closer look.

Inside the room, thankfully the door is open or there might otherwise be a complication, but inside the room are two young looking (can one tell the age of an immortal by appearance?) men. One with white blond hair and one with blue and a vaguely scale like tatooing across his skin.

Mermaid children, of course. They are talking amiably and Uhura's keen ears pick up the conversation easily. Just daily gossip. Something that looks like a key card is hanging from the Nysgod's belt.

Spock followed as closely as he could behind Uhura, until they were just meters away. He stopped, knowing that she would continue onwards, and scout the security room. Keeping an eye on their tail, Spock awaited her signal.

Inside security, the Nysgod with blonde hair rises from his seat and turns so that his back facing the entrance. He's studying a screen of monitors, squinting at something in the background. A few seconds later, he asks his blue haired partner to take a look. Something suspicious has appeared on screen.

[ ooc: If you'd like, I think this could be an awesome Uhura badass moment. Take 'em out! ]

Nyota was not a violent person by nature. She disliked physical fighting and preferred to win an argument or difference of opinion based on the merits of her words, which was no surprise to anyone. But there were times when you were hip deep in a bad situation and the only thing you could do was fall back on self preservation.

She knew that on screen it was more likely than not, herself and Spock's presence in the tower. Without stopping to worry about what would happen next, Uhura strode in and reached for the nearly heavy, blunt object.

"I am so sorry." She murmmured in Rigelian. Not a particularly eloquent language under normal circumstances, but they had hundreds of shaded meanings to transgressions. The hard device connected to the back of the first Nysgod's head and he never had the time to look surprised as he slumped unconscious.

Uhura bent down to make sure the man was alright, immortal as they claimed to be, she just wanted to be sure. Trusting that Spock would handle the second guard.
