The last party involved a pool, this one was more of a ball. And so Martha was in one of the lovely skirts Dorian insisted on bringing her. She had arrived without a date as was usual for her. It didn't bother her too much. She was able to talk to everyone then without having to worry about one person. Or she could hold up a wall if she preferred. Today she was feeling more like holding up a wall. She found a spot next to Arthur.

"Not much of a dancer?" she asked with an easy smile.

He hadn't dressed up in the clothes everyone else seemed to be, instead Arthur wore something that he felt comfortable in. That meant plain brown trousers and boots with a red tunic shirt and a red coat over it. While her face was unfamiliar as she approached, it was her voice that identified her.

"That is not true. My father made sure I learned everything necessary to be King. I simply have not found a suitable partner," he replied with the faintest of smiles.

When he spoke, Martha connected who he was. "Ah, yes you would have learned to dance, though probably not the same dances I know," she said with a smile.

She did look him over. How often does one meet THE King Arthur? Cute, definitely had a cocky air about him.

"No suitable partners? I'm sure we can find one for the King of England!" she smirked.

She looked at him as the rain fell gently over them, curious for his reaction to this small display. Magic, as he had said, was never used for good in his world. But perhaps she could show him another side to the skill?

"It's a small shifting of the energy." She explained. "The rain was going to fall eventually, but this way, I helped nature along. That is the most important aspect, that nature is not disturbed from its proper course." She blushed, hoping to impress him.

Arthur was looking up, as he had been from the moment she'd decided to show him magic. Of course, he had seen magic before. Mostly used to cause harm and rarely for anything good. He couldn't count on his fingers and toes combined the number of times that magic had been used against him or even his family.

This was something entirely different. She had caused the skies to pour down on them. "I've seen lightning strike down dozens of men, seen men long dead walk around but never this."

He's impressed.

She smiled at him, pleased that she had managed to impress him. The rain continued, still falling heavily from the sky. This was always the part of the spell that she couldn't remember. Willow had the mind for new and complicated spells. Tara's specialty was for seeing nature take its course. "The only trouble is making it stop." She blushed, a little embarrassed. "I hope you don't mind getting a little wet."
