It was just one of those days that lent itself to being lazy. Helena wasn't precisely a lazy type of person, but she did rather enjoy lounging with a good book. And the only thing better than lounging with a book was being able to lounge with a book and someone else. So feeling the need to add a person into this equation she got up, taking her book with her as she headed to Zoey's room. She knocked and waited. She didn't need to bring a second book because knowing Zoey, the other woman had at least a few books in close proximity to her as well.

It was very much a day that lent itself to a bit of lazing about. Besides, the beds there were incredibly cozy, and with as much chaos as tended to find the candidates taking a moment to just relax was long overdue. So Zoey, wearing a men’s oversized button-down as a nightshirt, lay curled up in her bed with Troilus and Cressida; her favourite of Shakespeare’s plays (for obvious reasons, even if they were only obvious to the select few who knew). There were a few other books on her nightstand, because she had no plans to go anywhere and had every intention of reading every single one of them.

Until there was a knock on her door, anyway. Tucking a bookmark in her place, she left the book on the bed and went to go answer the door. When she saw who it was her face lit up, and she smiled, opening the door wider to let her in.

“Hello, Helena.”

Smiling warmly at Zoey, Helena stepped inside once she was invited to do so. "Hello, Zoey. I do hope I am not interrupting anything." Helena turned to Zoey once inside the room. "I was reading a book when I realized that sometimes having company while reading can be immensely more pleasurable than being alone and reading." A bit of a glint passed through her eyes.

"Or, of course, there is always the option of simply enjoying another's company and not reading." She did leave the part about what enjoying company meant in that case open to interpretation. Helena knew Zoey could draw her own conclusions in that respect.

“Not at all,” Zoey responded immediately. And truth be told, even if Helena HAD been interrupting something, she would have set it aside for her friend. She grinned, her gaze dropping momentarily to the book in the other woman’s hand. “I agree wholeheartedly,” she said, tilting her head slightly to indicate the book she’d left behind on the blanket.

She couldn’t help but laugh, as she reached out and caught Helena’s hand pulling her farther into the room, towards the bed. The conclusions she drew... interested her thoroughly, but caution stayed her for the moment. Of course, she hadn’t gotten the woman and her book into her bed, yet. Caution could quite possibly fall by the wayside. “Of course.” Zoey smirked playfully. “Shall we begin with reading and see where the evening takes us?”

Noting the tilt of Zoey's head, Helena's eyes followed the angle and saw the book she'd left behind. Well, great minds thought alike after all. "So I see," she responded with a grin of her own. Grins were rare for Helena, but they had a way of lighting up her entire face. Her eyes would sparkle and the skin at the corners of her eyes would crinkle.

Helena chuckled, reading that smirk all too well. Her grin turned into a smirk that sent a playful gleam through her eyes. "I think that would be a marvelous starting point." Helena followed Zoey to the bed, keeping her hand in Zoey's as they went. "I would imagine the bed is more comfortable when one has company to share it with." So Helena couldn't help slipping into innuendo. It was rather her native language, after all.

That was quite the sight, the grin lighting up Helena’s face. And Zoey couldn’t help but answer in kind, her grin making her blue eyes sparkle. It had been quite some time since she’d shared her bed, in ANY sense of the word, and sharing a bed, and books, with Helena, sounded thoroughly enjoyable.

No matter WHERE they should end up.

Her laughter was low, and more than a touch sultry, as she climbed gracefully backwards onto the bed. “You would, of course, be absolutely correct,” was her response; she spoke innuendo quite fluently.

Zoey's grin was entirely breath-taking to see. It also made Helena's heart flutter a bit to see it. The way her eyes sparkled, the way her face lit up made her all the more beautiful.

Noting the sultry touch to her laugh, Helena watched as Zoey climbed backwards onto the bed. She chuckled herself and climbed onto the bed, sliding up beside Zoey. "Larger beds are always so very inviting to company. One person staying in them is just far too lonely." A playful glint passed through her eyes, still maintaining the innuendo.
