Engineers Assemble!

Okay, I've been musing about this on plurk, but let's do this here:

Tony is a genius. And a lot of our candidates are. Tony used to run a mutli-national corporation that made shit. He's also really good with his hands. So in this situation, Tony would go Engineering bro with anyone else so inclined.

Here's my proposal:

Tony will be inventorying the available supplies in their new home. His goal is to get them up and running as soon as possible. And you know, Tony's always gonna be better at power sources and running water than cute architecture. It's been suggested that magic users could speed up the process when it comes to starting from somewhere other than the absolute bottom. I would like to be in on whatever the group comes up with, IC, for ordering their technology. So if you're cool with Tony approaching your character and working with him, let me know! I will put a log up soon to facilitate this. But Tony, as a CEO and engineer himself, would certainly be moved to take charge of part of this effort.

Jax has self-taught mechanics skills. He wouldn't call himself brilliant, but he knows his way around a wrench and an impact driver.

If you need anyone to help build, Tony could certainly recognise the biker attire and put one and one together!

Marion has two sets of basic carpentry tools. She will offer to do heavy lifting too because well, werewolf.

All she wants is for someone to take a look at her drawings for a basic green house she wants to build on her own. She wants to be sure they can grow food to eat.

She also will totally be prepared to do whatever needs doing.

Erin ([personal profile] notsharkbait) may ask for Tony with help for her pool. She would want to be sure the water can get filtered and recycled so it doesn't get gross. She doesn't know how to do that and will offer free labor as well as her skills as a secretary since she DID help a Prime Minister stay on task back in her home dimension.

Helena is an engineer, veering more towards mechanical engineering, though she also has a hand in electrical engineering. Most of her understanding of both of these is rooted in where technology stood at the end of the 19th Century, but she's updated some of her understanding to modern standards. If there's enough parts, she could potentially build a generator or two for electricity and such.

She has a few electronic devices she bought in Gebo that she can pull apart and use for parts elsewhere. So if anyone else has anything of the sort to add, she'd be more than happy to work on getting generators assembled. She can also build some other devices for people if they want her to. She's open to any and all challenges/work, she simply needs to have the necessary parts for them.

Science!

The Enterprise brought a lot of various tools along with her. Along with enough parts to make a food replicator. If someone with magic wants to duplicate these parts, she'd be glad to share them with the rest of the people.

However, it is lacking a power source that will make it last a long period of time. They'll have to hobble something together unless Tony wants to offer his skills.

She also has blueprints to various futuristic technology drawn up so she can contribute in that way too.

Anakin would love to be a part of whatever engineering group is organized. It would give him something to do that gets him out of Padme's hair during the day.

Sparrow would be in on this. Sparrow is very knowledgeable about electronics (more on a practical level than theoretical, with a specialty alternative energy sources--basically if you need someone to build a wind turbine, that's Sparrow. Ze's mentioned this to Cuthbert so far.

On a totally separate note from the food replicator stuff, Spock and Tony should hang.

We can handwave that they did something at the science party if you want. Spock's speciality is in programming, but he's pretty good at engineering. He'll still be interested in setting up a network that's JUST theirs.

Would Tony have any interest in helping Boyd build a still?

Always up for Tony stuff, and Cho put together a list of things that they might need in a new and unknown place at the science party, and then got all that stuff together, and now has it. So there's that.

Sarah isn't an engineer specifically, but she's good with math and building things - essentially she's an extra set of hands if Tony needs them and would probably understand what he's talking about most of the time.

Most of Lydia's knowledge is theoretical, but she's got a genius-level IQ and a fabulous interest in math (and astrophysics, though that's mostly a hobby), and would love to get more involved with some of the more scientific people around here. She could be a pair of knowledgeable hands, perhaps?
