The Unicorn /Amalthea | The Last Unicorn

A delicate, ethereal looking woman picked her way cautiously through the meadow. She was pale in skin tone, with a long curtain of white hair that tumbled down her back to her waist. Her simple gown was in tones of purple and lavender. She was just below average height but she was willowy and slender. There was something unnatural about her. In the way she moved and held herself. This human form wasn't her normal form - and it showed in the way she held oddly still between moments of deliberate and careful movement. She appeared both curious and skittish, radiating gentleness.

Her eyes were drawn to the castle at the far side of the meadow, and she studied it quietly, wondering where she was. This was not her forest...and this was not the castle of Hagard. It wasn't a location that she recognized from her travels. Her eyes were deep pools that held both innocence and ageless wisdom. A melancholy sadness. Remembering.

Suddenly a rumble was heard more than felt that vibrated the air. The woman quickly turned, looking this way and that but could not find the source in the peaceful scene around her. It sounded like....no...it couldn't be!

Whirling, the woman tried to run, despite the fact that there was no visible sign of danger. Her long white hair streamed behind her as she sought a place to hide from that horrible roar - completely caught up in instinctual fear. She stumbled, her gown getting tangled in her legs as her bare feet whispered in the grass. There were other smaller dwellings near the center of the meadow - and though her first instinct was to avoid the humans that may be living in them, her experience taught her that maybe just maybe she would find help.

It didn't stop her from being terrified.
