Robb Stark | Game of Thrones
His dark eyes quickly open, as he startled awake with a gasp. There were faint memories buzzing around his psyche as if his mind was in a fog when he sat up and rubbed at his eyes.
Was all that just a dream?
But when he looked around, he hadn't recalled being on the beach and he quickly scrambled to his feet looking around confused. Out of the corner of his eye, something caught his attention, and reaching for his sword hilt, he's surprised to see that it was just a kitten running around and seemingly playing in the sand.
"At least I'm not completely alone."
Re: Robb Stark | Game of Thrones
"Nope, not completely alone," she said, making sure she looked as defenseless as possible. Men with swords could be very jumpy. "Newly arrived though it seems."
no subject
"What land is this?" His hand remained on the hilt of his sword as he turned to look back around him, noticing she wasn't making any sudden movements or indications she'd attempt to attack him.
"There's very few stories I've heard of white sands." He confessed, wondering if he should even admit to that.

And he's surprised she's telling him what to do, not that it was a bad thing, just... unexpected. He blinks, looking around and takes the few steps to catch up to the kitten, catching it.
"Winterfell? King's Landing? Riverrun? Dorne? Do any of these sound familiar?"
no subject
She steps over the threshold and is immediately plunged back into the comfortable temperate climate. Martha waits for him and the kitten to step over before continuing.
"I don't have all the answers myself," she begins, holding out her hands for the kitten. "But a powerful race of people, the Nysgods, have brought us all here from vastly different places."
no subject
Once they crossed the threshold, he was surprised, "What sort of magic is this?" He wasn't really listening, except catching that she was indicating to hand over the kitten when she mentioned the Nysgods.
"They are unfamilar to me; I know not of such gods or legends. I'm familiar with the old and the new."
no subject
She instead takes a good look at the man in front of her. A boy really. He can't be older than 18 or 19, but he looks as though he's already seen too much.
"I'm unclear on whether it's magic or advanced science. Neither is very comfortable to think about," she replies. "The Nysgods are not gods either. Merely beings significantly advanced from most everyone else. We all come from such different places, none of our gods or legends seem to be the same, though they all follow many similarities. There are many who do know some legends of the Nysgods. I had heard of them in my travels. Always thought they were bogeymen, talked about to scare children into behaving well."

"You speak of things such as north of the Wall. Strange happenings that don't make sense. Strange stories I don't quite understand." The grass blows gently in the wind and he watches with an attempt to be stoic.
Finally, he looks over to Martha an offers a smile, "I think the cat is rather fond of you, miss."
no subject
She looks around the meadow again before reconnecting eye contact with her new acquaintance. "I don't know this Wall you speak of, but I can tell you this place is all very strange. Even for those of us who deal with strange. If you have questions, I can answer them to the best of my ability."
She's trying to not overwhelm him with stories of different times and universes. She can see he's already overwhelmed as it is.
no subject
"I came from Winterfell, one of the seven kingdoms of the realm. It's from the north, but not as far north as the Wall, where stories originated of strange happenings and of things that perhaps exist or not. I'm unaware of the complete truth." His mind lingered of his bastard brother Jon Snow. Had he seen any of these stories? Was this anything like it?
"I was..." Robb looks confused for a moment, "I was at a dinner, but then I woke up here." He felt a lingering ache in his abdomen where his hand reached up, as if to search for any wounds on his body.
"How did you get here, Lady Martha?"
no subject
Her smile turned to concern when his hand reached for his abdomen. "Are you injured?" She reaches up for the kitten and lets it down on the ground where it gambols about among the flowers. Martha opens up a carpet bag and begins pulling out bandages if needed.
no subject
"It's a bit hot." Perhaps on the beach, but it was cooler in the grass, being quiet for a moment. "Robb. You can call me Robb." It seemed formalities weren't a thing here, and her dress was one he had never seen, nor was elaborate. Perhaps royalty didn't matter here. Now that was something to think about.

Looking down at his chest, he didn't see any wounds or anything. "Just my imagination, I suppose." He felt rather ridiculous stripping in front of this polite woman.
no subject
"There's no wound, but would you allow me to listen to your heartbeat and take your blood pressure?" Just because there was no wound didn't mean he was completely safe. But she couldn't imagine this man having heart issues unless he had a history of it in his family.
She's already reaching into her bag to pull out a stethoscope and a blood pressure cuff.
no subject
"Blood... pressure?" His eyebrows are knitted looking at her in confusion and he sat up straight. "What are you going to do?" These concepts were foreign to him, especially when she pulled out bizarre looking items from her bag.
This whole ordeal was becoming stranger and stranger, "I've never seen such things." He held his tongue from saying anything more cruel.
no subject
The light had been playing a trick on her. They really were buttons... That was comforting at least. Martha looked up calmly as he panicked.
"It seems my country is more advanced medically than yours is. This allows me to listen to your heart beat. I can put these things in my ears like this, and then I take this part and hold it against your chest." She demonstrates on herself first. "Would you like to try it on me first?"
She does unzip her jacket, and opens it slightly. Her tank top is low enough that the stethoscope would be no issue.
"And blood pressure is just making sure the blood runs through your veins at a healthy speed. It's really easy. I just clasp this around your arm..." She clasps it around her own, "and squeeze this thing until it gets tight. Then I let the pressure out."
no subject
He was always the serious one, always calculating. Life circumstances tended to make him do that now. It wasn't a choice, he had to, not after the deaths of his family and his father...
It was rude to stare, and he looks away after her demonstration. So far, she had been very kind and full of information since he had been here. "Where are you from, Martha?" He'd rather attempt to change to subject.
no subject
But if he doesn't want the tests, she can't force them upon him. She lets the stethoscope hang around her neck.
"I come from a country called England." She wonders if he's ever heard of it.
