Johnny's survival skills had gotten slightly better in the last few years, but he was still a city boy through and through. None of those skills involved survival in a desert, so he underestimated how much he was going to need in the way of supplies, and was now desperately low.

The half-demon's patience are already few even on a good day, and being overheated, lost, and frustrated were only making it worse. To add insult to injury, he managed to trip over an old tin toy truck and right into a cactus. Not usually so klutzy, he vented his frustration with a string of curses and punting that truck as hard as he could. It goes sailing off into the distance rather far, and then down, down...

Well that was odd. Johnny manages to jog ahead for a few yards to get a good glimpse of that canyon that seemed to sneak up on him. He shielded his eyes to get a better look, but the sand below was blinding. This is the first landmark he had seen in awhile though, so maybe, just maybe, someone else was here too. He called out just in case, before he plopped onto the ground in order to work on getting some of those needles out of his shin.

"Hey! HEY! Is anyone here? Anyone?!"

"No."

This is said from behind Johnny, because Alec is a jerk like that.

Johnny just about jumped out of his skin at that, and he whirled around to see who it was. If he was feeling better, Alec may have just gotten slugged on the jaw, but he's pretty exhausted.

"--the hell?! Where the hell'd you come from?"

He paused for a moment, eyes narrowing.

"'M I hallucinatin'? Is this a mirage or somethin'?"

"Over there." Alec waved vaguely in some other direction beyond where he was now.

"And no, you're not hallucinating. At least not the last time I checked, which was about three seconds ago."

He smiled helpfully.

Alec, you jerk.

Johnny shook his head to clear out the cobwebs. "I must be, cuz I coulda sworn you were closer than that. Shit, where'd you come from? I haven't seen anyone in way too long. Where the hell am I? And is there any way to get past this gorge other than climbin' down it?"

Charming one too, or so he liked to think.

"I'm just confusing like that. As for where I came from, I dunno." He shrugged. "Just teleported. As for where you are... I believe here is a good answer. And I don't know."

He's being helpfully unhelpful.

"'Just teleported'?" Johnny's eye narrowed. He's spent days travelling in hellish conditions, and this guy could just pop up wherever he wanted? Maybe he was just a little jealous.

"Yeah, well... if you can teleport our asses to somewhere with civilization, it'd be appreciated. Otherwise, I gotta start makin' it down this gorge, and get somewhere before I run outta food 'n water."

He shook the canteen tie to his belt. From the hollow sound it made, it seemed like he didn't have much left.

"Oh. Yes. It's a thing I do." As well as being highly irritating. But... "Civilization. Now there's an interesting idea. What's your definition of civilization?"

That empty canteen doesn't sound so good, so Alec offered him a bottle of water. He just yanked it out of nowhere. Literally.

"At this point? Any place with food 'n water. Especially water. I'm--" He stopped when Alec offered the bottle, blinking at it and then at him. "'The hell'd you get that?" He looked skeptical. If this guy can teleport, who knows where the bottle came from. But at this point, he's too dangerously low on water to refuse it. After a moment of hesitation, he takes it and quickly chugs about half of it.

"Nowhere. I created it out of the probability of a bottle of water existing in this moment in time and in this place."
