Most where Rollo was from had fair hair, but there were a good number who had darker hair, like himself, even darker than him, and there were at times some redheads. It typically depended on who bred with who. Not that Rollo understood genetics the way she might, but he knew sometimes when new blood came into a village, the children could have different hair and eye colors from the rest of the village.

Listening to the description of redemption, Rollo nodded slightly, thinking over her words carefully. "Recently, I should have been sentenced to die for betraying my brother. The gods spared me from such a fate, and I did not see why they would. I still do not understand, though I was told before my arrival here that the gods gave me a second chance to earn trust back. Though how does one earn back trust after betraying my own brother and everyone I have known my entire life?"

He was deeply conflicted on what had happened. He disliked how flippant his brother seemed to be in regards to letting others have their glory as well. And well, Rollo had his own desires, and he hated being in his brother's shadow.

"That's... not easy."

She rubs her chin and jaw in thought. She isn't sure what she would do. She never had siblings. Her parents wouldn't have minded another child but her mother's health would have suffered and her father would never stand to hurt the people he cared for.

"If you are truly sorry, you must say so. I've seen many strange things but most men cannot read minds. Even if they could, expressing yourself is the most important thing you can do. There is no shame in speaking plainly. Usually what causes betrayal is.... self-motivation. You have to learn to set aside your pride. Everyone wants glory. Even mothers do. Women want to see their sons and daughters thrive." She pushes back some hair rolling her thoughts about in her head. His situation is complicated. She can practically hear the priest at her Church. She really does miss sitting in on Mass. Too bad she doesn't see herself being able to go back there. Not while sitting on a very distant beach.

"Put your people's needs first. Do everything you can to champion their causes. Their needs. Even if they do not trust your motivations, your actions will show what you mean. Some men won't trust you. Others will see that you've changed. It won't be easy but nothing worth doing is easy, I find."
