Beth flinches, her hand falling to where her knife is-- should be-- but hen it moves back to stroke down the kittens back. She glances in the direction of the threat newcomer she notes the pack, her eyes drawn to it she can't help wonder... She pulls her gaze away turning back to look out at the view and nods, "They're amazing."

[overdraws]

The movement isn't lost on Allison, and she doesn't blame her. This place is weird. She'd have done the same.

"It's probably one of the better things about this place," she says, tugging the pack open. It's all camping food -- dried meats, nuts and berries mixed together, a bottle of water. "The rainbow rain in the rainforest is kind of nice." And then she makes a face.

"Sorry, that sounded way better in my head."

Shoot.

It's habit, when everything around you is a threat. This place is strange, but Beth is content for the moment to maybe relax a little. The contents of the pack aren't too far off what she might have been carrying herself if she had any.

Dried meat-- keeps longer and doesn't attract so much attention. Berries-- Daddy and later Daryl (not the cat one) taught her which ones she could eat and which ones she couldn't.

The bottle of water though, that's a small wonder to the blonde, they'd run out of those-- she can't even remember how long ago.

She nods, taking in the little bit of information about her new surroundings. Then turns with a faint smile at the second comment. "Rainbow rain.." It's spoken a little wistfully, "that sounds interesting." but she doesn't ask more, no for now she sets that aside, questions for a little later.

"Are there Walkers here? I haven't seen any yet, but sometimes you can go days and not see one. Other times they just keep coming and you think they're never going to stop."

SUDDENLY AN OLD MAN

[overdraws]

"Walkers?" Allison looks at her curiously, eyebrows furrowing a little bit. She might be putting the food an equal distance between them. A silent offer. The girl can take some, if she wants. If not, no harm.

"I've never heard of those, so I don't think so. Unless they're in a different part of the Wyld that I haven't been to yet."

GET OUT DADDY YOU DON'T BELONG HERE!

[acapellas]

Beth's brow furrows in a nearly matching expression, and maybe she shifts a little closer, the kitten squealing in retaliation for waking him. "You'd know what they are if they're here." And then a little quieter. "If they're here, they'd be everywhere."

[overdraws]

Allison grows a little more serious at that, and reaches out the pet the kitten, shaking her head.

"I've never heard of them, so that means they're not here. What are they?"

[acapellas]

Beth seems a little more at ease, still on edge, but a little better. "They're people-- well they were people once, but now they're Zombies." She pauses, reaching to take a little pinch of berry mix, "they're everywhere... back home. There's nothing left, been like that well over a year now."

[overdraws]

Funnily enough, Allison doesn't seem phased by zombies. Werewolves and evil druids exist, why not the walking dead?

"Some kind of apocalypse?" She breaks off a piece of the dried meat and chews on it thoughtfully.

[acapellas]

Beth nibbles at a few nuts and shrugs her shoulders. "Something got out. Something the government made. We're all infected." She pauses to take a few more bites. "We don't even have to be bitten, if we die we come back a monster."

[overdraws]

"You're kidding!" Allison? Looks horrified. Appropriately so. "That's... That's awful!"

[acapellas]

She pauses with a pinch of berries between her fingers, and turns to look at her new 'friend', her tone is solemn and serious. "I wish I was, then maybe-- maybe I'd still have my family, and my friends."
