If he could have Amanda here, completely healthy, but in return he was never allowed to return to Destiny and continue his work, which would he choose?

So this is a really difficult question for Rush to answer, because even he is not entirely sure what he would actually do if presented with that situation as an actuality.

A lot of weighing of odds go into it: the odds that everything went right on Destiny and they're not drifting dead in space, the odds that even if they aren't the pods were set right and they'll wake up in time, and the likelihood of his going back to Destiny anyway.

As of now, he would say that he'd have Amanda healthy and with him because the odds of getting back to a fully functioning Destiny where he is healthy and not frozen for hundreds of years seem lower than the odds of being stuck here for years or being sent back to essentially nothingness, and he has his notes and information with him plus the Nysgods have tech that is very similar to the Ancients. His work could technically still continue, and clearly Nysgods have ships, etc etc justification. Whether he actually would if it came down to it...

What Rush believes is honest truth may not necessarily reflect his actual behavior in the heat of the moment.

This is a very well thought out answer and I appreciate it!
