You don't take no very well.
[Gently turning his face out of Blaine's hand, Matt steps away, putting that distance back between them.]
Ignorance is secure bliss. All that matters is that I can't be seen with you.
no subject
Ignorance is how you get in trouble when you don't know who to watch out for. Especially when they know you.
[Blaine continued to lean against the dresser.]
Not telling me where the blade aiming for my neck is coming from isn't doing me any favors, amore.
no subject
[Being close to Blaine, physically speaking, blurred his senses. Not being close to him made Matt feel like he was standing at the other end of an ocean, somehow only just hearing each other from the shores. Matt kept his face as neutral as he possibly could but drew in an uneven breath to speak quietly.]
The smell of you lingers in my clothes.
no subject
[Blaine's sense of smell was strong for a vanilla human, but he knew well the effects of a familiar scent. It was tied strongly to things you couldn't control. The blonde stepped forward again, and tucked his head down lower to Matt's level.]
Good.
[His fingers came up to clench in Matt's jacket and pull him towards him. He didn't want this to be easy for Matt. Not after the shit he was going through with the ghoul thing. Hell, this was his perfect way out, but he had come to realize he didn't want out of their relationship altogether. He just didn't want to be the man's slave.]
no subject
He didn't budge, one hand wrapping around Blaine's wrist but he couldn't bring himself to tear the grip off him, stuck on feeling the pulse underneath his fingers.]
Telling you would defeat the purpose of trying to protect you.
[He closed his eyes against the onslaught of it all, the scent and feel of the man most of all.]
Why must you make this so difficult?
no subject
So he said nothing. He just took a slight step back so he could lean in with the proper angle and capture Matthew's mouth.]
no subject
He'd seen the ends Malkavian madness could take someone, he'd watched his dear sister destroy herself along with him and Dorian, had seen what she did to the lovers she got jealous of. The thought of Blaine chained up getting his far to blue eyes torn out of his head turned Matt's stomach.
He broke the kiss with a sound torn between grief and want, squeezing Blaine's wrist softly.]
I'm sorry, amour. Truly I am.
[Matt started to step past him and towards the door, heart being torn out with every step.]
no subject
He twisted his wrist so he could grab hold of Matthew's in return before he could leave. His eyes were dark with desire from the kiss, but wholly serious.]
You'll do what you feel you need to, but don't lie and say it's what you want.
no subject
I hate it. [he said honestly and lowly.] But I see no other way out without someone dying and I can't let that happen. I can't.
no subject
Was it so hard to say that?
no subject
Yes.
[It was admitting that he couldn't just drop Blaine like a bad habit. It was admitting that they were more then fuckbuddies, no matter what the truth and his feelings screamed at him. Yes, yes it was hard but Matt couldn't be flat out cruel to him and let him think that Matthew was leaving on his own.
Matt's jaw flexed once and he turned, heading for the door. If he didn't leave now, he knew he would only end up naked and in Blaine's arms.]
no subject
Matt turned and fled towards the door and Blaine watched him with eyes as intent as a cat watching an unsuspecting mouse scurrying across the floorboards.
He didn't think about it. He definitely couldn't have thought about it or else he wouldn't have moved and let Matt go. No, it was totally impulse and instinct that propelled him forward, hand extended to catch the door as it started to open and push it shut again. He leaned against it so he would be facing Matthew from the side and reached up with his free hand, catching the back of the vampire's neck and pulling him against him. If all else failed, he'd press himself up against Matthew. It didn't matter how it happened as long as his lips were on the shorter man's and his tongue was questing to push past cool lips.]
no subject
His chest and throat were tightly bound under bands that threatened to cave him into himself. He was not a creature that was meant to be denied what he wanted. He was even less of a creature to hold himself to that restraint of his own free will. The fracture in him that the first kiss of the conversation had started ruptured into a chasm.]
no subject
[Blaine sagged against Matthew, all the strength in his body sucked out with the bite and the orgasm that had totally blown out every thought in his head for the next minute or so. He let his face bury into the man's neck and took in a deep breath knowing this was probably going to be the last time in a long while that he would be this close to the man. He may have wiggled his way through a chink in Matthew's admittedly flawed armor, but he was under no impression that it had changed the situation. Matthew was still going to avoid him and Blaine was out yet another lover and friend.
He wrapped his arms around Matthew's shoulders and didn't bother to try and move or hold up his own weight. He'd stay this way until he was pushed off.]
no subject
The situation being what it was, if Matt went back stinking of Blaine, the whole powderkeg would be lit. He didn't know what he was going to do, so he tried not to worry about it. There would be plenty of time for thinking later that night, when he was alone in his bed.
For now, he was just trying to press this moment into some kind of immortality that he could carry with him in his pocket. To draw in and stain himself with Blaine's scent; part of him screamed to do it defiantly. To choose how he would and to hell with the consequences. Hi held a kiss on his shoulder for a long moment before speaking quietly and roughly.]
We're idiots.
no subject
He ran his hands through Matt's hair and his voice was low in the man's ear.]
We're impulsive. There's a blurry difference.
no subject
[Matt sighed in sad contentment and wrapped his arms around Blaine, rolling them over onto the blonde's back and spreading his hands out onto his shoulders. Matt kept their chests together but leaned up enough to look down into those blue eyes properly. He brought one hand out and brushed back the wayward and disheveled bangs, glancing up at them with the gesture while he spoke.]
You make me an idiot.
no subject
It's not so bad, being an idiot for a while.
[He wrapped his arms around Matt's waist now that he was able and just enjoyed the feeling of hands in his hair.]
no subject
The wayward bangs had been brushed aside, but Matt kept threading his fingers through his hair and at the wistful smile, Matt smiled softly, dark eyes dropping to his lips for a half moment.]
No. Not so bad at all. I wish I had longer to do so.
[Leaning in, Matt took up Blaine's lips gently, kissing him simply to feel him and connect one more time before Matt had to leave.]
no subject
[His reply came just before the soft kiss that was meant as the beginnings of a good bye. Blaine kept hold of Matthew's waist even though he knew if the man wanted to leave there wasn't anything he could do to stop him.]
no subject
A very kind lie.
[With a disappointed look, Matt pushes back onto his knees, separating for what at the moment seems to be for the last time. It was a smooth movement that rocked Matt to his feet, straight up and he somberly went about fishing his clothes from the floor and getting dressed.]
no subject
I'm not the one who makes it a lie.
no subject
[Matt focused on the task. Pants: Check. One leg at a time. Shirt: Check - not like it matters anyway, Matt knew he was going to have to shower and change before he even thought about going around Nott and he wasn't sure it would help. At least that abuse would be nothing new.]
no subject
[Blaine leaned against his dresser, watching the man get dressed with muted interest. He shouldn't get to into watching him, as there was little chance he could get him to stay for a repeat.]
no subject
No. [No, he wasn't going to answer that question. Matt slips his arms into his suspenders and hastily straightens them out.] I will not put us through a pointless conversation.
[Scooping up his jacket, Matt lets it hang from his fingers as he takes one last look at the gunmen. Words sat on the tip of his tongue, the truth and all of it but it was souring by his own bitterness before they were even formed. So he chose prettier ones with a free hand held out to Blaine.]
Please. Come tell me goodbye.
