So who's up for a little violence?

A few of you might have noticed the guy in a mask skulking around the ship. Thanks to an encounter in the Red Room, he's no longer going to be in 'observation' mode. He's looking for the young woman that started a fight with him, as leaving things unfinished is just not his style. Since she escaped, he's actively hunting throughout the ship for her. He's armed. And he's not shy about stabbing people. Anyone who encounters the Soldier while he's on the prowl can just let him go past and stay unharmed, consequence free. Anyone who attempts to stop him? Becomes a target as well. Anyone who engages him in an actual fight? Also deemed a target.

Now, since in-game death consequences are pretty steep, he can simply injure characters severely as opposed to killing them outright, since he's got somewhere else to be anyway and the main point of fighting them would be to get them out of his way. So that's an option for people who don't want their pups actually dying. Additionally, anyone with the ability to restrain him is certainly welcome to do that, though he will continue to fight to try and get loose and complete his 'mission', so you may need to find somewhere secure to stick him afterwords...

But if that doesn't happen, he's going to continue to try and kill Devi and anyone he perceives as being in his way. So anyone who'd like to hash out an encounter with his maniac, hit me up!

And once Erik stops him, there's the question of what to do with him. Unless he plans on just dragging him around 24/7.

He has scrap metal at his disposal. He can anchor him to a wall or something. Then let Diana know his suspicion. Your choice how quickly he escapes.

Obviously, since Caius is Devi's boyfriend, and while she's healing; still a bit vulnerable, he's going to definitely stand the Soldier's way.

His age, strength, fighting expertise and near instant healing will pose quite the challenge, if that's what you're looking for.

It'll put him a standstill, certainly. Which is what we want. The trick will be figuring out how to stop him more permanently, which might need to be a group effort of some kind.

Which just happens to be a constant mistake a certain vampire makes. This will lead to interesting places.

So what are your thoughts for involving Nott?

She can't do much in her current state. She'll be getting a canon update as well (hopefully by the end of the docking plot,) which means that she'll be able to fight more. She'll also be coming from a battle field, so this would be a natural place for her to step in.

If the trying to hunt Devi takes place before the canon update, she'll probably try to restrain him as best she can without getting a headache. Either that or try to dement him (basically screwing with his head and making him feel insane...more than usual.)

How long will the hunting go on for?

That depends entirely on how many move in to stop him and how quickly. It may all be done by the end of docking.

Oh good, it's taking place during this amount of time. Then subduing will probably be her attempts, followed by dementing, if necessary. The latter is up to you. I'm open to her getting knocked around, shot at, stabbed, what have you. She'll recover.

Is she likely to go it alone?

Depends where she runs into him. She's not someone who generally calls for backup. And given the face that she'll see, she's going to avoid getting her sister anywhere near this. If someone is around nearby, she might look for assistance, unless she views them as being in danger.

So the plan is see him, recognize him as the guy people have been talking about, and then engaging him on the spot?

Yes to that, also notice gun and knife, realize someone could get hurt, and then try to subdue (basically engage on the spot).

I shall have to work Lydia hearing things into her threads! I'm not sure if there's any way for her to try and stop him, but is it kosher for her to figure out from banshee powers alone that it's him?

Absolutely. And informants are threats too, if you'd like her to be menaced at some point. Up to you!

Ooh, could definitely be fun. She'd probably shrink back, hold her ground, and hope that he wouldn't actually hurt her because she's got poor survival instincts. I'd be down for some sort of encounter, for sure!

Oh man I definitely want to throw Ming into this. She'd intervene if she saw him stalking around actively armed. Verbally, at first, though I am all for escalation. Ming's a pacifist but she has no problem defending herself or others.

Also, while she can 'die' if she suffers a fatal wound, 'dying' for her is just passing out for a couple of minutes and then coming right back anyway.

He's actually got a very interesting opinion of Ming. If she was part of the effort to capture him she might actually be able to calm him down. She reminds him of the authority figures he had back home.

Minus the torture and beating, of course.

Oooh. She would be all about lending her magic and skills to trying to subdue him, once aware of what was going on.

I know we talked at some point about Cho nerfing the metal arm with Sorcery. Also, if the Soldier is determined to kill Devi, she could maybe give her some protection that keeps him away. When we originally discussed it, it was for Steve, but it'd work on anyone who wears it.

Ben hasn't gotten into a good hand to hand fight in a long time. >.>

Zoey would totally put herself in his way in an attempt to delay him/keep him from his target.

What outcome would you prefer?

I'm totally all right with her being injured (she does this protective shit sometimes and injuries happen), but yeah, would definitely prefer to avoid death. Although she probably wouldn't initiate a fight unless she had to.
