Just for my own knowledge and potential plotting down the line, who on the ship is a doctor or has medical skills? This includes psychiatry/psychology. Besides Martha b/c Talisa already knows her.

Charles has the psychology bit, but he's isn't in the head space to be helping people in that area as of right now.

Depends on what it is and when you're thinking? I might be able to help out.

Talisa still hasn't really dealt with losing her baby yet. She'll decide that she wants another one, but has infertility problems. My idea is that it ends up not being physical, but all psychological, and she'll need help overcoming it.

He could maybe help with that in a little while. I'm not sure when you wanted to do this, but Charles just needs a bit more time to get himself back into things.

It won't be for a while yet. Need to finish with the current angst she and Robb are dealing with. Then I'll need to do a thread where she tries to find out what's wrong with her (a physical exam) before seeking out help with her psychological trauma. So not for at least a week or two, I'd say.

Hm. Well check back with me closer to when you're thinking of going through with this and I can let you know if Charles is in a better headspace.

Len here is a medical type. Surgeon, physician, psychologist, and exobiologist. ~~Also an expert in space psychology, but I'm not sure how useful that will be.~~ And curmudgeon. But that's not really part of her medical skills. XD

Interesting combination of specialities! Talisa's gonna need some real head shrinking. Not sure if a curmudgeon would be sympathetic enough, but then again, maybe what she needs is some tough love.

Cho's got some basic medical knowledge, but it's mostly stuff she's picked up out of necessity and/or by helping her best friend (who was in medical school) study several lifetimes ago. She's got a great knowledge of useful medicinal plants, and she's not grossed out by all the nastier parts of being around the seriously ill, but she's more support staff than staring role when it comes to healing.

Absolutely. If someone came up to her and was seriously injured, her reaction would be 'holy crap get them to a doctor' cause she is definitely not the best person for it, but she can help out if regular medical staff gets overtaxed.

Better than nothing, but worse than an actual doctor or nurse or vet or... anyone with legit training, really. XD
