Hey guys, Anne here to say that Charlotte is going to be getting a canon update. There have just been several things about her that have honestly been frustrating me for a few months now, so I've decided a canon update was in order (given the other option was just dropping her which I don't want to do).
After the current plot is over, she is going to be sucked into a wall of the Egime and sent back to November of 1884 and she will proceed to live through the next one hundred and thirty-one years in her world, which will give her a new canon point of 2015.
Now to make a long story short, after Charlotte goes back home, there's a couple decades of tensions rising between the supernatural sects and the mundane humans in her world. Then werewolves in Sarajevo assassinated Archduke Ferdinand to start World War I, and then Charlotte rallied the London vampire hives and declared open war on the B.U.A. (Bureau of Unnatural Affairs, basically an organization made up of werewolves and mundane humans to oversee the supernatural sects and ensure they're all registered etc) and, by proxy, werewolves. Blah blah blah fighting never actually stopped until King George VI called everyone to the table to talk in 1945. Charlotte and the vampires ended up getting their way in getting the B.U.A. disbanded permanently and being left to govern themselves. Something called the Shadow Council was formed in which the supernatural sects could have representation in the government, and Charlotte took a seat on that.
The next seventy some years were spent with London rebuilding from the basically three decades of war that tore it apart. Charlotte rebuilt her Westminster hive and is regarded as a hero by her fellow vampires, for she was the leader they needed when they went to war. She's also going to be quite different personality-wise. She won't be anywhere near as guarded given she lived the whole LBGT movement and she can finally actually fully be herself in the public eye and not have to hide her female lovers any longer. Oh and her issues over Rosalyn? They've diminished, so she won't be nearly as defensive about that. It's still a sore subject, but not as much as it once was.
Um yes, that's the short version. If anyone's interested, the more detailed version of events of her canon update can be found here. So when she comes back, she'll be 532 years old and she'll have quite the different taste in fashion. She rather enjoys the corporate look of pencil skirts and blouses.
If anyone is interested in witnessing her being sucked into a wall after the plot, let me know! She'll be spit back out not long after and be confused at first. Her memories may remain forever hazy, like a dream she can't quite recall all the details to. She'll recall people she knows as she comes face-to-face with them, but otherwise things will be hazy. I'm also hoping this makes her easier for me to write because Victorian mannerisms and such was getting a pain to write as she wasn't acclimating the way I'd wanted her to.
