"Some people do," she said with a shrug. "The sister with the baseball bat, for example. Not sure about princey, though. From what I've heard about him, he seems a little...rigid."

Diana hated rigid.

"Well, if he's rigid, maybe then he needs an incredibly attractive naked hippie girl to loosen him up a bit."

"I'd take one for the team," Diana admitted, playing with a piece of her hair. "If it meant everyone else got to go home." It wasn't like she had anything good waiting for her back in LA. Maybe this was where she was meant to be. Maybe this was the break from destiny she'd been waiting for.

"But would you love him? Probably not fair to the poor guy otherwise... and then you would break his heart and leave him in little pieces all over this city."

She looked up at him, all eyes. "Since when are arranged marriages about love?"

"See, I was told he would look across the room, see the one who he was destined to mate with, and it would be love at first sight for both of them."

He let her twirl again.

"That sounds like love."

"Love at first sight? I don't think it exists." She wanted to believe it existed. With everything that she was, she wanted to believe. But those sorts of things only happened in fairy tales. Generally of the Disney variety.

She shrugged. "Love is complicated. Which doesn't make it any less wonderful. But it's...you know...complicated."

"Which is why there are a lot of reality tv shows dedicated to that topic."

"And sitcoms and sonnets and epic eighties ballads," she countered.
