It's not every day he found himself in a pool, without his memory. At least, he didn't think so. Not that he'd know, is it? And that thought made him furious. Julian--he did not think of himself that way, naturally, having no memory of his past--slid through the water almost as if he was attacking it, slicing with arms and legs as though he could reach some semblance of himself if only he moved fast enough. It didn't work, of course, and he came to rest briefly at the edge, hair matted over his forehead, glaring angrily at the water.

Garak was quite surprised to see the good Doctor here, though of course he would refrain from showing it. However, the most surprising thing was the expression on his face. Through all the years of their acquaintance, Garak had never seen the Doctor quite so infuriated.

"Why Doctor, I never knew you could swim!" he said jovially, his customary smile upon his face.

Startled, he looked up at the speaker. The man was not familiar, and yet Julian felt he should know him. It was infuriating, that someone should know him better than he knew himself!

"I didn't either," he said, which was true, as he knew next to nothing. His eyes narrowed. "How do you know I'm a doctor?"
