[Devi still couldn't get behind it, but then again it was like she'd lived in the demilitarized zone. She stops at a door and swings it open, stepping in and aside to let Julian in behind her.

She was right; it was the beach. They had maybe thirty minutes before the sun was down completely and had the run of it by themselves.]

As promised. An ocean.

Whoa...

[Julian stares at the beach. He aches to starts sensing what kind of magic this is, but he isn't ready to blow his cover. Still, ignoring the magic this place was magnificent.]

I've never seen the ocean.

[Devi walks past him, towards the shore line with her hands in her pockets and her trench coat flaring behind each step.]

It's the best place to take in horizons. At the end of things, I was on the Street by myself for three months. Most of my mornings or nights were spent at the beach it had.

Does that make you feel attached to this sort of thing or is it painful?

Attached. If it was the other way around, I'd still be a hermit.

[She peels off her boots and socks, dropping her jacket over top of them and rolling up the cuffs of her pants to her knee.]

Last time I cam it was kind of crowded. I didn't get to enjoy it like I wanted too.

Two isn't a crowd, Julian. Plus, you're fun to talk to. Horizons are better to look at in pairs anyway.

[She smirked up at him as she finished rolling her pants legs and she started walking out into the surf. She stopped before she actually hit the water and looked back at him.]

[He also removed his shoes and rolled up his jeans. He glances up as she talks to him. He expected some cool cartwheel.]

[Maybe she was showing off. Maybe it was just because she's always wanted to do it. Just to see. It'd be filed away the rest of the little experiments she conducts on the people that brave dealing with her.

Devi slips her hands into her pocket and walks out onto the water. Her feet only went in a half inch and are shifting with a layer of purple energy as she started putting distance between them. After a few yards she turned around and withdraws a hand covered in the same energy, a finger crooked at him, daring him to test the illusion.]

[Julian stares at her shocked. He can't sense magic here since there isn't anything to draw on- unless he did his own hand. But that could really give away what he was. However, she's just shown him she's something magical.

He steps closer, trying to measure the distance she's above the ocean floor. It really only gets him wet.]

So... you use magic?

[She walked towards him, each step lowering her down a little further until she was knee deep.]

[Yes. If you can count Supernatural and Magic as basically the same thing, yes, she did. It was something she had a different however incorrect explanation for.]

Oh? Then what do you call this?

[He watches fascinated as she moves lower.]

[Devi looks amused and shrugs.]

It's not a secret. Most people don't know because they don't bother to.

[She grins.]

I've always wanted to pretend to be Jesus.

[He considers telling her what he is. Although he answers her other statement with a completely serious face.]

[She laughed, dropping her feet down to the sea floor and closing the rest of the distance between them.]

All I needed was a toga and a wire beard.

[Had he met her when she first arrived, she would have been much more awkward, but adapting is what she excels at and the people here have been nice enough to browbeat a little personal sense in her.

She smiles back.]

I'm from Columbus, Ohio, if you know where that is. Not the most exciting place in the world.
