She reached out tentatively, allowing her hand to become sprinkled with the gentle and cool water. The night air was chilly, her breath visible against the dark sky. Reinette regarded her companion beside her, somewhat better in terms of appearance than she was. Her large gown had become heavy from the rain, her hair flattened and stringy. Certainly not a romantic woman to behold, but rather, a fish out of water, so to speak.
