Player Plot: Tara's Wyld Ride
Apparently Draco hadn't gotten the idea after the explosion went awry. Maybe it's because this method is considerably more gentle.
Regardless, as of day 266, Draco and Tara will be taking up their idea for how to potentially get out of the Wyld: to speak directly with it. If you can't blow a hole in it, maybe it really is sentient and has the option to be communicated with. It couldn't hurt, right? Right.
Well, mostly. It's certainly not a massive swarm of bees, and that's definitely a plus.
Unfortunately, it's more of an airborne illness that sets in over a series of days. The bonus is that if infected candidates pay enough attention, they'll realise that they actually are communing with the Wyld, in a way. It's just not the way they intended.
The first day is subtle: victims will suffer from irritability, hot flashes, and extreme itchiness. Extreme itchiness. In some cases, victims may actually begin to scratch themselves bloody.
The second day, and the second stage, is a bit more intense: victims will find themselves muttering 'It's killing me. Too much energy. It's killing me' under their breath without understanding why. Irritability increases, and victims are prone for violence without warning.
The third day and final stage is the worst: the skin of the victims begins to transform into a rough, bark-like surface. Their blood turns green, and leaves can be seen growing beneath the surface of their skin. Naturally, this hurts like hell. During this stage, victims will also begin to inexplicably attack the Grasp, to no avail. The barrier will continue to hold, thus continuing to throw victims back the cursory few feet, possibly to the point that they find themselves getting injured from the attempts. This will continue until the victims are cured, or are knocked unconscious and left to their symptoms.
There is, of course, a cure. Anyone who goes into the rainforest any time after the illness starts to set in will start to notice these large fuchsia flowers blooming up, and anyone who takes a closer look at them will find a powder contained around the base of the pistil (that's the middle part) that can easily be harvested. However, it takes until the second day before the flowers are big enough to harvest. Still, wonder what might happen if you got one of the victims to inhale it.
EDIT
In addition, some characters may notice that the rock holding the Grasp has...moved somewhat. Like the grass around it has been slightly displaced. This is because Draco's actually lifted the entire rock up with his magic, decided it was too much work to carry anywhere else, and set it back down right where it was. This has been previously discussed with the mods.

FAQ
- - When does everything start?
The ritual itself will take place in the morning of day 266, or June 2, OOC. During the rest of the day, victims will suffer through the first stage. The next morning, their symptoms will evolve into those of stage two. The following morning, their symptoms will hit stage three, and will continue until a cure is developed. Things will also naturally run their course as of day 270, though some people may find that the illness runs through their system a little bit quicker than that, with things running their course as early as day 268.
This means that the plot will run as such: stage one on day 266, stage two on 267, stage three on 268. At that point, people can either continue to suffer from symptoms until day 270, or they can find themselves naturally healing.
- I don't want to participate in this plot. Can I opt out?
Of course! Because of the nature of the illness, you can opt out just by saying your character has some sort of immunity to it. Exactly what that is is up to you, and doesn't need to be specified. Maybe it's just that they ate a lot of nuts the day before and the illness doesn't like that.
- What will happen if my character falls unconscious for too long?
They will eventually turn into a plant. If you're lucky, they may not root themselves to the ground, but those leaves growing beneath the surface of their skin will eventually poke out, and things may not work right. So it's probably best to stay conscious, not that it'll prevent that.
- How long does it take to become a plant?
Anywhere from a day or two. This is all based around what you as a player would like. If you want your character to only experience it briefly, then it may run its course as of day 268, but if you want to drag it out a little more, you have that option as well.
- My character really wants to cure the victims!
Any characters can help cure the victims, but be warned that the powder can only be harvested from the flowers during the second day, when the victims are starting to get violent. Obviously it's still possible to get them to inhale it, but it's a little more difficult.
- What if my character has started to turn into a plant? How do they inhale the cure?
With their nose, naturally. They'll still be able to breathe at any stage of the process, but should probably be conscious for that.
- I want my character to catch the illness after the others have. Is that okay?
No. All characters will catch the illness at the same time, and will suffer through the three stages together. Solidarity, man!

Draco Malfoy / Lydia Martin
Lydia will be sitting this one out - let's cite banshee immunity - and will be looking for a cure if any of her friends are infected.
Christine
So yeah, she'll be available to tend to people, and will hope for a cure but won't leave her post to look for it.

My girls
Reinette: As Reinette was in the dream plot, I think that she will be sitting this one out. She has been using aloe to help keep her passage ways clear (as she had bad lungs), so maybe this helped her in some way?
Margaery: Margaery as well won't be infected, though I would like her to help find cures.
Nott: Miss fuss pants will probably help out all the infected, since she thinks you guys are crazy for messing with the Wyld. Her vampire nature likely able to avoid illness.

Charlotte will probably also remain unaffected due to her vampiric nature. That and she really doesn't need to be getting violent by an illness affecting her in such a way. Though for any of her friends that are affected, she could offer to let them take out their violent tendencies on her, so long as they don't decapitate her or jam a wooden stake through her heart. Or set her on fire. >.>

Matthew gets to sit this one out, so he'll just be watching the rest of you go mad. :|
If anyone wants anything with me, let me know!~

Caius will be unaffected due to his immortality and regeneration factor. He can engage others in arguments and otherwise be grumped on before a cure is found!

Joan: Still working out the full details with her, but I definitely want her to deal with the major itching to the point of nearly tearing her arms to shreds. Should be fun, yeah? Definitely need someone to cure her as early as possible on day 2.

Sophie-Anne is being caught by the illness all the way to the third stage.
Gaila is already pretty much a plant so she's sitting this one out.
Pasha will be giving birth/going into labour on Day 268. So she's definitely sitting this one out though she may have to be talked out of trying to help.

However Dorian is only going for the first two days. I am hoping to get him cured or staked before he causes too much damage with his claws to handle the itching.

Aurora will be getting sick, and she's also getting kinda tired of these bad ideas of yours Draco :|
