Friendly neighbourhood Momo here with a little hiatus / slowatus announcement!

I'm having a little bit of a burn-out lately, so dearest Lydia here is going to be passing out with Matt during the tail-end of the event. So she'll be out from today on through till December 15 or so. I may extend it a little as necessary, if I'm still not feeling her, or may bring her back a little earlier if the mood strikes me. I believe she'll be brought back to her room while she's in her coma.

I'm also doing this because, as of November 29, I'm heading off to England for a couple of months! (Exciting. Also nervewracking.) I'm staying with my grammum, so I should have decent Wifi going on, but I'm not entirely sure about my schedule. So consider this an additional announcement that I may be slow with both her and Draco until February, when I come back!

All this said, I should still be around via PM, AIM, and Plurk at [plurk.com profile] comatosebutterfly, if you need to reach me for anything. I'll also be backtagging, but for the duration of her hiatus, Lydia will be pulling a Sleeping Beauty! Huzzah!

Apparently Draco hadn't gotten the idea after the explosion went awry. Maybe it's because this method is considerably more gentle.

Regardless, as of day 266, Draco and Tara will be taking up their idea for how to potentially get out of the Wyld: to speak directly with it. If you can't blow a hole in it, maybe it really is sentient and has the option to be communicated with. It couldn't hurt, right? Right.

Well, mostly. It's certainly not a massive swarm of bees, and that's definitely a plus.

Unfortunately, it's more of an airborne illness that sets in over a series of days. The bonus is that if infected candidates pay enough attention, they'll realise that they actually are communing with the Wyld, in a way. It's just not the way they intended.

The first day is subtle: victims will suffer from irritability, hot flashes, and extreme itchiness. Extreme itchiness. In some cases, victims may actually begin to scratch themselves bloody.

The second day, and the second stage, is a bit more intense: victims will find themselves muttering 'It's killing me. Too much energy. It's killing me' under their breath without understanding why. Irritability increases, and victims are prone for violence without warning.

The third day and final stage is the worst: the skin of the victims begins to transform into a rough, bark-like surface. Their blood turns green, and leaves can be seen growing beneath the surface of their skin. Naturally, this hurts like hell. During this stage, victims will also begin to inexplicably attack the Grasp, to no avail. The barrier will continue to hold, thus continuing to throw victims back the cursory few feet, possibly to the point that they find themselves getting injured from the attempts. This will continue until the victims are cured, or are knocked unconscious and left to their symptoms.

There is, of course, a cure. Anyone who goes into the rainforest any time after the illness starts to set in will start to notice these large fuchsia flowers blooming up, and anyone who takes a closer look at them will find a powder contained around the base of the pistil (that's the middle part) that can easily be harvested. However, it takes until the second day before the flowers are big enough to harvest. Still, wonder what might happen if you got one of the victims to inhale it.

EDIT
In addition, some characters may notice that the rock holding the Grasp has...moved somewhat. Like the grass around it has been slightly displaced. This is because Draco's actually lifted the entire rock up with his magic, decided it was too much work to carry anywhere else, and set it back down right where it was. This has been previously discussed with the mods.

As of day 261, the odd team of Draco Malfoy, Anakin Skywalker, and Boyd Crowder will have created something of an explosive device with the intention of flinging it up into the sky and detonating it in hopes of 'making some noise' and breaking through the barrier between the Wyld and Niflheim at least temporarily. After all, wasn't that part of the reason they couldn't use the earpieces to get word out that they were stuck?

Maybe. Maybe not.

At any rate, the Wyld is already known to not take terribly well to things, especially when they might be perceived as a threat. Surely everyone remembers the storm in response to the magic use! This is much of the same, more of the Wyld responding to a threat before it gets out of hand. And while the use of too much magic might not be an immediate threat, a explosive device definitely is.

That's why, not moments after the explosion goes off, a rather large swarm of bees will come down from the direction of the rainforest, and drop down on whatever candidates they may find. They don't distinguish between those who participated and those who didn't, but there is one silver lining to it: they only affect those outside in the Meadow at the time of the explosion, mid-day on day 261. Anyone who gets stung by these bees will fall asleep immediately, right where they are, and dream of home. People can also get caught in dreams together, and as in most dreams, nothing will seem amiss - you don't usually notice weird things in dreams until you wake up, after all. Why should you notice that your friend is home with you? That's perfectly normal!

It'll be up to your fellow PCs to analyse the bees, which will drop dead after stinging someone, and maybe find a cure to wake people up again. Should anyone take a look at them, they'll find a particularly interesting neurotoxin causing the sudden sleepiness. There's a good chance that an antidote can be made from what's available in the Wyld, but they will wake up sooner or later. Just give it a day or so.

Some of our magic user muns have put their heads together and come up with what their characters will be doing to assist.

MING after a short reprieve and time spent planning will be making ten houses. They have one room each and are relatively simple but they're very functional and certainly capable of keeping people warm and safe of an evening. There's nothing inside for the moment other than a stone floor but Ming will offer to add to them on another day when she isn't exhausting her magic. (Ping Faye on plurk @crossthesky if you need more details/plottings)

GLINDA after setting up several protection charms will spend the rest of her evening marking out a large area of grass in the meadow. In the late afternoon a tall thin castle with lots of towers and turrets (but no castle walls it should be noted) will rise up from the grass. And then Glinda will promptly black out from exhausting her magic and using too much of it at once. The castle is bare inside other than the basic structure. But it offers more than enough room for all the candidates to shelter inside if they so wish. (Ping me on plurk @pantiestealer if you need more details/plotting with me!)

MERLIN
will be setting up a never ending table of food and water for the evening inside the main hall of Glinda's ridiculous castle that is available to everyone who might need it. (Ping Spoo on plurk @greenonme if you need more details/plotting with her)

DRACO will be about and looking to help where he can. He'll be helping to re-expand things that have been shrunk. He's do anything and everything that he can to help. (Ping Momo on plurk @comatosebutterfly if you need more details/plotting with her)

Feel free to comment on this in logs/plotting etc. Or catch one of us here if you need us!

Hey there, everyone! Friendly neighbourhood Momo here, swinging by to bring you her second character, Lydia Martin of Teen Wolf (TV series, not Michael J Fox film) fame! Sort of fame. She's getting there.

Also, she's full of spoilers if you haven't seen season three, so I'm sorry for that in advance. Her canon point is right after the end of 3a. Fun with giant tree stumps!

Here thar be spoilers. )

So that's that! I'm on plurk over at [plurk.com profile] comatosebutterfly, if you don't have me yet, and I'm always up for plotting. It's a pleasure to have her in game!

Hello everyone! Fresh overly nervous blood coming in in the form of your friendly neighbourhood Momo! Some of you might know me from such games as Bete Noire (or wherever else I've happened to play.) and today, I'm bringing in Draco Malfoy (of Harry Potter fame). He's a snarky wizard who is very, very blond, and very, very sceptical of everything.

As an added bonus, he's coming in with his memories from BN, but won't actually remember them per se; they're suppressed, so anyone he knew from there? They're going to have to try a little harder to make him remember them. However, he'll be drawn to those he knew before. It also means he's a couple years older than he thinks he is. He'll remember the aftermath of the Battle of Hogwarts, but sort of distantly, as though he's missed something.

You can add me on plurk at [plurk.com profile] comatosebutterfly. It's a pleasure to be here, and I'm excited to play with everyone!

(And hopefully that little explanation actually made sense. If you have any questions, just feel free to ask. I don't bite. c: )
