OOC: Making a Congregation

So since I'm slow, I wanted to figure out how the meeting ends. Mainly because Ben isn't really wrapping up that meeting until they have some kind of group of people to work to represent the set of candidates to work together to try and come up with some basic rules and system of dealing with problems.

Right now from OOC I know we have the following who want involved IC. I think 3 people each group works to make sure equal balance, and yet gives an uneven number so there are no "ties"

Humans: Ben, Bert, Jane

Non-Humans/Vampires: Dorian, Charlotte, Erik

Wizards: Draco, Tara, Glinda


This would be in place before Natasha and Nott's incidents but we can hand-wave growing pains if it's too far past those incidents to get the group involved.

Draco is absolutely involved. Always and forever, until the end of time. That said, he's more on the end of keeping to himself until something needs doing, and then he'll be all up in it (on his own, quietly).

However, he also needs the information for the newbie journal. However that'll work. I'm open for handwaving!

Out of curiosity, would it have been a take down kind of effort? Or, would there have been a punishment, too?

probably take down, seeing why she was lashing out, calming her down, and then hearing her side and deciding if it warranted punishment or was just a newbie had no idea wtf was going on and she needs to make amends to Draco but she's not a threat to everyone deal

I'm not sure how that will pan out now. She ceased on her own after talking with some of the people she beat up (Kate, and Noah respectively, and then she also spoke with Devi and Insa afterwards) in which she learned of the situation.

Since the groups would have been set up before her arrival, I suppose I just need to know when that would have happened so it doesn't look like she got off scot free. Maybe after her talk with Insa? The amends she'll make with Draco will be informal, and in her own special way. Because we all know apologizing isn't really in her vocabulary.

like I said, we can handwave it that things were in growing pains and it got handled before they figured it out. So it won't ruin anything you already had planned out :)

Erik would certainly be willing to contribute his opinions, but would they want him?

I do also have Obi-Wan available. You can have either or both of them!

Ben would probably offer either one. But something in Ben leans more towards Erik because having him in the group would make the group stay proactive between the two of their urgings, Ben liked how they bounce off each other in their talk, and in a way it also keeps him involved so he doesn't go off to do his own thing.

They are probably going to need people on the ground to help enforce the rules, and that Ben would suggest they go to Obi-Wan for help doing. Sheriff Kenobi? :)

Ben's a clever son of a bitch. I loved their convo too and I love the idea that he wants Erik on the committee partly to keep him from wandering off to do crazy vigilante shit. Because he so would. And he's been quietly gathering other powered allies just in case he needs a small, personal army. So keeping him on the official side of things is smart. Ben, you sized him up so well in that conversation.

Also Obi-Wan would be well suited to that task!

For all he jokes that he's not nearly as smart as his wife with his 5th grade education, Ben is amazing at reading people and getting them to work together, or dealing with problems. It's why he was a leader at 15 of a tribe of adults.

And yeah, he also had a feeling you'd be doing that, Erik. Because honestly, he would to if he was in Erik's shoes. So yeah, we're going to put a very quiet stop to that and get that little army to help work for the group instead now, aren't we ;)

I don't think Ben would bring Kurt on, tbh. He likes Kurt, but he tends to have a lot of mood shifts that Ben would see - not knowing it's from the UV and vampire things from before - that he wouldn't go to him.

Ben was really hard pressed between Joan and Jane, and Jane gets it because she would have a lot of experience dealing with non-humans that he and Bert wouldn't have beyond their time in the game. It'll be beneficial.

so I've been thinking about it, and I think Ben would not ask Joan because he would like to have her be able to help advise him on things that would need to be set up and explain it to him before he goes into a meeting since he doesn't really get a lot about politics and stuff.

But she would be the first in asking to take over a spot if someone disappears.
