Let's go rescue a complete stranger who might or might not need our help!

So yes, given Glinda's taken it on herself to rally the troops I thought it best to set up a plotting post.

The basic plan at the moment is to steal the woman and replace her with a Scarecrow, take her to the candidate house and disguise her, notify Edwin/someone in Dagaz of what's happening and barracade the house until they get there.

Ideas/input/how to carry it out are all welcome!

I definitely want Bert heavily involved in this! He's been pretty messed up over his place in the world now and what he was raised for and his capacity to do what he's sworn his life to do: uphold justice and all of that. And with other stuff in his life bringing him down, this is kind of exactly what he needs to keep him from getting to a place where he's not as fun for me to play.

He however is not on board with Glinda's current plan and (in the IC Network post) has been trying - in his own, not-so-great way - to get her to reign in her emotions and think about the basic plan she's outlined and how safe it is to implement without recon and assessing the talents and skills of all available parties involved. Plus he is big on doing it quietly and stealthily, and worries that magic will be easily detected. They're magic people, they know magic, they're bound to be prepared in his eyes. But he doesn't want to just steamroll over her and go 'look, you should do this, this and that' instead. He knows she has potential, and is trying to encourage her to use it wisely.

So that is where my dude who is involved stands!

So with my girls...

Chell doesn't care at all. Like, not a bit. Let the woman die, rescue her; she's not bothered one way or the other, but she's sitting it out.

Christine has rapidly descended into paranoia because of this. She's sure there's more to it than what's on the surface, but any number of things could be happening here and after all she's been through (ahaha, thanks, Bete Noire), she's less the goody two shoes nurse and more the woman who wants to save her own skin at all costs. She won't be getting involved, and she does not want to be involved by proxy. So if you hide the woman in the candidate house, she's locking herself in her room and plugging her ears.

Ruby is all about fair trials and justice and all that good stuff. But she also knows that looks can be deceiving and that the blue woman might not be innocent. For the moment, she's willing to rescue and harbor the woman, but she won't be totally trusting her story if things don't seem to add up.

Darius wants very desperately to be there to watch her back, but has enough self-awareness to know that he would be a massive liability because he'd probably flip out mid-operation.

So he's flipping out about that instead but trying to do it quietly.

Don't worry, Darius. Glinda has particularly asked Rory to keep an eye on you.

THEREFORE: I'm sorry.

Look, look, his last 'let me adopt you!' friend was Loki. This is better than that, right?

Right?

Zoey's going to need to adopt the poor guy, I think. He can join Aurora in her small flock of "people who I've adopted/need to protect"

Look, Darius. You hide in the closet or whatever and, like I said earlier, Rory will sit outside with a broken-off chair leg (with the nails sticking out still) and it'll be fine.

Mostly.

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat??? He's defending against invaders. Or whatever. Darius can hide and Rory will guard him.

"Rory" is playing it like he's interested and concerned but can't help (being an ordinary guy and all, as he's claiming). He's talking up the theories and possibilities left and right, sure, and he's playing Political Analyst, but he's not inclined to get involved--and he probably won't unless somehow pressed into it. He's trying to play it like he's not sure what would be the best move for the household at large and/or their current situation. He and Christine kind of agree on that point: damned if you do, damned if you don't. He will claim he thinks it's right to rescue her, just because, c'mon, that's what you do and that's ethics and morality and stuff, but he's not sure that's wise given the precarious situations all around.

In actual fact, he kind of doesn't care as long as bad shit happens because that's how he rolls, whether that's in the course of an attempted rescue, in an execution, or in the aftermath of anything. As long as something awful happens, he's good. In fact, if bad shit goes down, he'd like to encourage aforementioned bad shit to keep going down, whatever it might be (execution, revolution, the crushing of a revolution, whatever). He figures he can look out for himself and he'll get an interesting show. He's fascinated.

TL;DR.

He won't be marching out to a rescue unless pressed, forced, or convinced. But if you need him for something, he's here and he's watching. He can hang out in the house and guard things or whatever.

Elena wants to help! She has no idea how, but she needs to feel useful, so if she can play a part she wants to play it. Though she does think they should try and talk to Hesiod and find out why they think she's a spy and such.

Dean is dealing with quest stuff, and we haven't gotten to the good stuff yet, so assume that he's recuperating, and dealing with his own crap, and not available. Sorry. He's putting his family first.

Zoey will help. She's going to suggest that they attempt to sneak up there and speak with her first, find out more about going on before they play prison break. They need more information before that goes down.

I don't think Vector will be available to help for the actual rescue, but aftermath stuff I'm sure he'd be willing to help when he's back in commission. XD He's a soldier and a black guard, so I know he's got skills that he can contribute Though he doesn't know anything about the politics here. All he knows is the house, and the people he knows that live in it. (and the basic 'got captured to be a candidate for this guy thing') :D

Cas would probably help if asked by the right person, but he wouldn't volunteer. With or without his help, I'm excited to see how this goes wrong.

House will probably hang back, making inappropriate comments and waiting for it all to go horribly wrong. At least until he knows whether this spy is someone they should save, 'cause dudes--for all you know she was planning to poison the water or burn the candidate house while you slept :|
