[A dead body on the floor. It would seem somewhat strange, if not for the petite brunette standing over it, holding a long, ritualistic knife.

She mostly seems puzzled.]

[and he just happens to be walking by... walking... and then he stops mid-stride and just looks at the body, then the girl, then the body again.]

Um.... you do realize that ritual sacrifices usually don't work in this day and age, right?

You'd be surprised.

[She tilts her head.]

You know, I'm quite certain I've killed this bloke before.

[and this would be the time that August would normally be making a very quick exit. But the whole "before" part caught his curiousity]

Before? So what, he was a zombie this time?

Werewolves can't be zombies.

[Honestly? Doesn't he know anything?]

One supernatural deformity per customer.

[he held up his hand, certain he had a comeback for that.... and yet he didn't. So he just shrugged]

Did not know that. I will strive to remember. So you just kill werewolves for the sport...?

[She watches him for a moment, without blinking. Like a lizard.]

Are you an idiot?

No, I'm just staring at a woman with a knife squatting over a dead body and really not sure what to do.

[Congrats. She now likes you a little bit more.]

[actually, he felt better with the door open. less chance of him being on the floor. Of course, depending on where she would try to stab him would depend on the give from his flesh. If she hit wood...]

And what side of the door do you want me on, if I'm allowed to ask?

[light and playful tone of voice, but the question was very serious]

That would depend largely on your sense of adventure, I suppose.

[She kneels down, rolling over the body. Although the man's face is kind of smooshed, long, deadly canines are very, very evident.

Artemis uses her knife to cut his shirt open in one flawless, autopsy slice.]

Do you have a sense of adventure?

Oh, I have a great sense of adventure. However, I have a larger sense of self preservation and I'd rather not end up being the next guy on the floor you're holding a knife over.

[his gut told him that she wouldn't hurt him with that kind of answer, so he closed the door and leaned up against it so no one else could wander in]

It was just like Woodstock, only funner because there were way more people. The weather still sucked, though. Rain pelted down on the parade, but it seemed like nothing was going to stop them. Not that it mattered because Diana wasn't quite so sensitive to temperature.

Good thing, since somewhere along the line, amidst the revelry and celebration, she seemed to have misplaced her clothing.

Oh well.

She danced down the street, along with the rest of the parade, until she spotted a scruffy looking guy along the way. Grinning, she gestured for him to come join her.

Well, the parade was... something different that was for sure. Reminded him more of Puckett in a way in how everyone was just indulging and enjoying themselves for nothing else than their own pleasure.

And then there was a naked girl beckoning him to join. Playing dumb, he just pointed at himself all confused and mouthed the word me?

[diana_abel]

Being a world-class flirter, Diana loved it when guys played dumb. Admittedly, he wasn't her type. The scruff was just...ugh. But he had really nice eyes. Diana loved guys with nice eyes. And it was a party. Everyone ought to be welcomed and have a fun time at a party.

Grinning, she nodded, pointing to him again.

He looked left and right, but no one else was paying attention to her. So he shrugged and made his way into the parade, trying not to let his limp on his left side show.

"Hey."

[diana_abel]

"You're new," she said cheerfully, reaching out to grab his hands and pull him into the parade. To one side, a confetti canon exploded, showering them with wet, weighed down confetti. And Diana utterly squealed with delight.

Man did she miss the 1960s.

"Welcome to Thurisaz!"

"Darn, my secret is out." He ducked a bit at the sound of the canon, then laughed at the confetti. "But I wasn't expecting a parade to welcome me."

[diana_abel]

"Well, obviously, you're totes a VIP," Diana replied, lifting his arm up and twirling beneath it.

There was always a part of some kind in Thurisaz, she supposed. But why ruin the guy's delightful banter? He was good at it. And Diana definitely appreciated a good banter.

"What's your name anyway?"

[woodenbadboy]

"I'm touched. I must think of a way to thank all of them personally for such a touching welcome."

He spun her, laughing a bit. "Well, I'm August. And you?"

[diana_abel]

Shaggy Doo could dance. Nice. She leaned her head back as she spun, her hair, damp and bedraggled, whipping around her face. Above her, that beautiful, purple sky spiraled, dotted with spots of pink and yellow and blue confetti.

"Diana," she replied, looking up at him again.

[woodenbadboy]

She was very easy on the eyes. Especially since, you know, the only thing she was wearing was pieces of confetti that stuck to her body as it came down from the sky.

"Well, it's a pleasure, Diana. I have to say, you're an amazing dancer. Can't keep my eyes off you."

[diana_abel]

"That's probably because I'm naked," she replied.

Diana knew she was pretty. She owned mirrors. And what's more, she carried herself in an unapologetic way. Lady Gaga would be so very proud of her.

"For the record, not a frequent event, unless you buy me dinner first. But it's a special occasion."

"You are giving me incentive to quickly settle in and find myself a job just to afford fancy dinners to take you out to."

He was teasing. Unless she meant it. Because August was not good at resisting temptation and boy was she tempting him in all the right ways.
