Lord Jaan's made an announcement on the network. And the people of Thurisaz aren't too happy about it. Without the strong, central government of Dagaz to keep things under control, the confusion and anger quickly escalates, becoming a riot. Citizens are screaming at each other, everyone accusing someone else of being a "Dagaz spy." And the candidates are no exception to this. Your characters are being openly harassed and attacked on the streets. Many establishments that hired candidates are being looted and destroyed.

Things aren't pleasant, folks!

Throughout Day 122 and Day 123 (March 30-April4), the violence will escalate. On Day 122 (March 30-April 1), it will be mostly focused on the town itself, but starting on Day 123 (April 2-4), any place where a candidate lives is going to be targeted. Because some of the PCs recently fortified the house, the rioters won't be able to get inside immediately, but a large mob will be forming outside. Any candidate beyond the safety of the candidate house will find themselves being targeted. We will leave it up to you, as players, to decide what form of torment your characters receive.

FAQ:
What can happen to my character?
There won't be any actual killing. And since Thurisaz is such a disorganized mess, no one is going to be taken into custody. But the sky is the limit, otherwise. Feel free to put your characters through any sort of torment you like.

What if my character doesn't live in the candidate house? Will they be safe?
The candidate house was fortified by some of the candidates. What sort of security or fortification your character's pad has is entirely up to you!

So is my character just getting caught up in all this or are they being specifically targeted?
The candidates ARE being specifically targeted by the second day of the riots, though your characters shouldn't really have any idea why.

If there's a mob forming outside of the candidate house, will I be able to get in or out?
Absolutely! But we're going to let you figure out how through whatever sort of role playing you like.

Can I kill random NPCs?
Yes. And you can scavenge any kind of weapon you like, as long as it's medieval-ish. In other words, no guns or flame throwers, but have all the broadswords and maces that you can carry.

What if I want to try escaping from Thurisaz?
The village has been completely sealed off. You'll only find angry villagers at the borders. You probably want to run. There are a lot more of them than there are of you.

Is this all leading up to something?
Yup! Stay tuned to the same Bat channel for more information about what will happen on Day 124 (April 5-7).

Will there be an event log for this?
Nope! We're going to let you make your own logs and network posts. As always, the mods encourage you to mix things up and to tag with new people and characters outside of your canons! You are also more than welcome to respond to Jaan's network post.

Fighting/chaos/torturing my character really isn't my thing. Do I have to participate?
Absolutely not. This part of the metaplot event is optional and, if you don't want to participate, you can say your character hunkered down somewhere. Keep in mind, however, that this is only the first part of the event. There will be further developments.

House hasn't been living in the candidate house (Maria :| ) but he'll be trying to fight his way back from his digs to the house because there's safety in numbers. Or because there are simply more hiding spots in the house.

If anyone wants to do something with him either outside or inside the house, I'm open. And I totally would not be amused if one of his fellow candidates accidentally (or not) injured him in the melee.

Elena on the other hand, will probably be getting her pretty little head into some kind of trouble. I think she's going to have the sad misfortune of being out of the house when the announcement happens and now needs to figure out how to get back without getting herself killed. I will most likely write up a log for this, but if anyone wants to tag along, let me know.

Chell will be around, IDEK where since I've done squat with her lately, but she'll beat the crap out of some NPCs. She's been training in the fighting ring so she's even better at fighting than she was the last time all hell broke loose.

Christine took a leave of absence from the clinic starting on Day 118, so she'll be hidden in her bed, curtains drawn shut, though you'll probably hear her mumbling "I told you so," from time to time. Other than that, she won't be doing much, and I'm not sure I'll be threading with her unless there's a break in and she's in direct danger.

Ruby will help fortify the house's defenses or go out to rescue people, using her super speed to evade and super strength to crack jaws. :3

So I'm not sure if I've done any tags that weren't from my phone this week, except for a little while on Monday and Tuesday nights. So since that means only tagging one or two places a day, I am behind everywhere and owe a ridiculous amount of tags.

Spike has been moping about the place, and will probably be stepping in to protect people he knows. PLEASE poke me if you want to do something with this! It'd be a good time for people to see the reluctant hero thing if they haven't.

Tony will be making sure, first and foremost, that Pepper and Maria are safe. He's got a glove (at the very least) that shoots beams, but he'll be reluctant to use that on citizens unless they're violent. He'll probably be concentrating on defense and yelling things.

Sam has been lurking around trying to avoid Lucifer. IDK where Lucifer is, so... SPN crew, we should figure out if all our kids meet up to defend each other?

Well, Ben is almost recovered from his withdrawal, so he will be mostly back in shape to help defend people. Of course, he won't be in top form, so things can happen.

Just reading this, he's pretty sure that he's going to tell Jaan that you know, denouncing the city where they sent the suitors was a stupid idea, and if Tristan cares about his possible future mates he may want to come and get them. Of course that will be once the hatred gets full force.

Aurora is still in the candidate house, and on her own she has no reasoning to try and leave. But if anyone needs help getting in, or is going out on a rescue adventure, it would be fairly easy to drag her along. Heading senselessly into danger she's not equipped to deal with is kinda a thing with her.

Welp, I personally am not terribly into fighting/chaos/torturing my characters right now, especially the ones I have here, but both Bert and Ming would ICly be involved in defending their fellow candidates/doing what they can to help.

She'll be helping Gaila attack the rioters from the upper windows by throwing stuff down on them, so he'll probably see her collecting objects to throw or boiling oil to pour over them. Girl is hardcore.

Doyle in true spirit of bad life choices has out in the riots at least for the first day. I'm thinking of putting up a post of him sitting in a bar when the rioting starts, possibly a bar fight?

WHen he gets to the house on the second day he's gonna be roughed up but mostly fine. If anyone wants to realize he's not there the first day is fine by me~! Anyone that wants to be out in the mess with him is also welcomed! I'm opened for anything and want to offer plot to anyone who'd like it with me!

Vector would be staying close to the candidate house for this event in order to protect Ming (and other candidates that are in need of help in the immediate vicinity).

In the days previous he had been patrolling around the city, but when the riots break out he'd pretty much stick close to the house to be on guard duty.
