Lord Jaan's made an announcement on the network. And the people of Thurisaz aren't too happy about it. Without the strong, central government of Dagaz to keep things under control, the confusion and anger quickly escalates, becoming a riot. Citizens are screaming at each other, everyone accusing someone else of being a "Dagaz spy." And the candidates are no exception to this. Your characters are being openly harassed and attacked on the streets. Many establishments that hired candidates are being looted and destroyed.

Things aren't pleasant, folks!

Throughout Day 122 and Day 123 (March 30-April4), the violence will escalate. On Day 122 (March 30-April 1), it will be mostly focused on the town itself, but starting on Day 123 (April 2-4), any place where a candidate lives is going to be targeted. Because some of the PCs recently fortified the house, the rioters won't be able to get inside immediately, but a large mob will be forming outside. Any candidate beyond the safety of the candidate house will find themselves being targeted. We will leave it up to you, as players, to decide what form of torment your characters receive.

FAQ:
What can happen to my character?
There won't be any actual killing. And since Thurisaz is such a disorganized mess, no one is going to be taken into custody. But the sky is the limit, otherwise. Feel free to put your characters through any sort of torment you like.

What if my character doesn't live in the candidate house? Will they be safe?
The candidate house was fortified by some of the candidates. What sort of security or fortification your character's pad has is entirely up to you!

So is my character just getting caught up in all this or are they being specifically targeted?
The candidates ARE being specifically targeted by the second day of the riots, though your characters shouldn't really have any idea why.

If there's a mob forming outside of the candidate house, will I be able to get in or out?
Absolutely! But we're going to let you figure out how through whatever sort of role playing you like.

Can I kill random NPCs?
Yes. And you can scavenge any kind of weapon you like, as long as it's medieval-ish. In other words, no guns or flame throwers, but have all the broadswords and maces that you can carry.

What if I want to try escaping from Thurisaz?
The village has been completely sealed off. You'll only find angry villagers at the borders. You probably want to run. There are a lot more of them than there are of you.

Is this all leading up to something?
Yup! Stay tuned to the same Bat channel for more information about what will happen on Day 124 (April 5-7).

Will there be an event log for this?
Nope! We're going to let you make your own logs and network posts. As always, the mods encourage you to mix things up and to tag with new people and characters outside of your canons! You are also more than welcome to respond to Jaan's network post.

Fighting/chaos/torturing my character really isn't my thing. Do I have to participate?
Absolutely not. This part of the metaplot event is optional and, if you don't want to participate, you can say your character hunkered down somewhere. Keep in mind, however, that this is only the first part of the event. There will be further developments.

I'm figuring Ruby and Dean can run into each other trying to rescue people getting hurt/looking for fellow candidates? Ruby will be wary at first because the other Dean knows she's a werewolf and he threatened her, but since she and your Dean have a common goal, she'll work alongside him if he'll agree to it.

Okay, so rough plan is I'm going to put a log for House (probably tomorrow) with a specific thread for Dean to save House's ass. Is Dean going to be out of the house at all or do I need to figure some other way for him to be aware House needs saving?

I feel like Chell would like Spock because he's logical and she has enough trouble trying to figure out human emotions and societal norms, so she'd like his straightforwardness.

She'll be helping Gaila attack the rioters from the upper windows by throwing stuff down on them, so he'll probably see her collecting objects to throw or boiling oil to pour over them. Girl is hardcore.

WHen he gets to the house on the second day he's gonna be roughed up but mostly fine. If anyone wants to realize he's not there the first day is fine by me~! Anyone that wants to be out in the mess with him is also welcomed! I'm opened for anything and want to offer plot to anyone who'd like it with me!

Dreams and portents, etc. Past, present, future. Whether or not it’s appropriate or even accurate, she tends to use the term ‘foresight’ as a catch-all term for her gift. Nothing particularly powerful (or so she thinks, anyway; there’s always the potential for more, isn’t there?), usually manifesting itself in dreams or a prickling at the back of her neck, on her skin. The prickling/crawling of her skin is the primary way her abilities warn her of danger. The stronger the sensation, the more immediate and bad the danger is. Sometimes she gets an idea about something and it occurs, or words pop into her head and someone around her utters them mere moments later. She can’t count the number of times she’s learned someone’s name before being told. Sometimes she just KNOWS. Someone will spill a drink, or trip on some stairs, and the like. Her dreams are usually cryptic, fragmented, and sometimes hard to remember upon awakening beyond the vague feeling that SOMEthing is going to happen, and whether it’s good or bad (the details would reveal themselves in time; usually in déjà vu or the like). When she does remember the details upon waking, it’s sometimes hard for her to piece together what they mean. The worse the visions/dreams are, the easier it is for her to remember the details. Sometimes she even wakes from her dreams with the taste of something lingering on her tongue (the taste of tar, the taste of blood, for examples). The worse the vision/the more important the vision the more intense it is. At their worst she is screaming and writhing in agony, crying tears of blood. Lesser degrees involve feeling and suffering the pains of injuries, spitting up mouthfuls of blood.

She momentarily linked with Alain when they were fighting back to back during the DIY Grasp incident (which was something she was unaware was even possibly; mostly because until now she's never been around someone whose gift so closely mirrored her own), and she was also aware of Obi-wan and his reaching out with the Force.
