Quick Role Call - Mind Blocking Stuffs

Okay, just because I know Ben will have it all written down somewhere, so I need to know too LOL

Ben is starting to send out more newcomers to get trained on mind blocking. Here is the link to the old OOC post regarding this.

I was told by mod Wizera that the training results would be determined between the player and the teacher. So for instance, I want Ben to be able to block them for the most part. So he was trained by Glinda. Now, because I want it to be effective, I personally won't let Ben participate in optional plots that are caused from the Nysgods getting something out of his head and instead I turn him into a girl.

Now, I still only have Glinda, Obi-Wan, Cho and Bert set up as trainers.

So from the group that was set up with trainers last time: make sure you have figured out if you actually learned or not and how that will effect you as a player and in plots, and have fun with it!

Anyone who feels confident in being added to the teachers side, comment below and we can handwave your character coming up to Ben and being like "I think I got this down, so if I can help show it to someone else, let me know".

And then don't be surprised when random new person is like "Hey, Ben told me you could show me this..." *grin*

I'm also an evil person and will try and send people off to get trained by someone I don't see them having CR with just so you can play with someone new.

Same goes for the weapons training, but now that there are training rooms, people can learn on their own as well, so I know it's not as big of a calling for at this point.

Christine's learned to block her mind. I've been kind of vague about it in threads because I didn't know how far the training had gone. Anyway, she was trained by Cho and Bert so if the players believe they've taught characters how to fully block by now, then I guess Christine has that.

Cho was in the first group of people to go to the Nysgod university, so she knows as much as a PC can know about the blocking. She also has tricks from Rowan, and Bert has tricks from his world, so if Christine is a quick study, I think she can know how to fully block by now.

Cool. Do you know if this is like a constant thing, her having this block in place? Or does she have to actively put it up? I'm just wondering because if it takes effort, she can't have it in place all the time and if she doesn't know a Nysgod is sneaking around, he could still read her.

I'm still undecided with which way to go if it's up to me to just choose which scenario I'd prefer, but I thought I'd ask just in case it was established somewhere that "blocking minds works like this" etc.

Part of it is detection. So, it's my understanding that the ability to detect could be constant, and then you actively block. That's the Nysgod way. The other ways Cho knows put up walls that protect your mind constantly, provided you can build them strong enough.

Cho is still down for training people in a kind of distracted "Oh, yeah, I said I'd do that" way. They might have to chase her down to get some of her time, but she's pretty good at it because she's got a few different techniques for the blocking.

Zoey's learned how to block her mind; she learned from Cho and Bert, so she knows as much as Cho knows extra lessons for the win!. And Zoey is now going to be teaching Herc.

Anakin knows mind calming/blocking techniques and he's pretty good against blunt intrusions himself. Where fails in the area of consistent practical application and subtle intrusions. But he's a pretty competent instructor (even if he doesn't personal succeed all the time.)

Obi-Wan is willing to teach, though he's been breached. I would say they manage to get at him when his defenses are down. Like when he's sleeping.
