Throwing open the door, she didn't flinch at it banged loudly against the far wall, striding to the sink and starting the water. The cool water on her face cooled her a little bit, and she turned.

Only to stop dead when she saw all the alcohol stacked against the wall. And the man standing there. Really, a bathroom wasn't the weirdest place she'd found alcohol hidden away, but in her mood it undid most of what the water had done.

"...is this yours?"

Tony's studying the stash, a hand on his hip, one vaguely stroking his chin.

"It is now."

He glances up and over, taking in the young woman. Angry. Muscular. Reminds him of someone. He probably wants to stay out of her way. He probably won't.

[inciting]

"So it's not your, you're just taking it?"

She wasn't entirely sure why that bothered her just as much, if not more so than it not being his.

Tony rolls his eyes.

"Listen, Punky," he says, "this is, as far as I know, a public bathroom. If a mysterious stash of fairly decent liquor appears, and no one's claiming it, then I figure it's up for grabs."

He considers the bottles for a moment, takes a drinking glass from beside the sink, and opens a bottle of scotch. He pours a few fingers in, and raises it.

"Cheers."

[inciting]

"Punky?"

She shook her head, leaning against the sink and scowling over at him.

"If you think it's a good idea to drink mysterious alcohol that comes from the bathroom, remind me not to ever drink with you."

"What are you, twelve?" he asked. He looked at the scotch for a moment, shrugged, and sipped. Shrugged again. "Tastes fine," he said. "Look, we're stuck in a different reality, we're about to be married off to some Aryan prince, and the food tastes like pulped cat litter. What exactly are they going to do that's worse?"

[inciting]

"Well, we're not dead yet."

Which, really, was something.

"You're new here, right?"

Tony raised an eyebrow.

"Just think of me as the intriguing transfer student with the reputation."

[inciting]

"The reputation of sketchy alcoholic?"

Despite her anger, she found her lips curling up at the edges. Because maybe this guy reminded her of Haymitch in more than one ways. Some which maybe weren't so bad.
