Event: It was then I felt the stranger kick me right between the eyes
As the dust begins to settle from the foul (fowl?) situation caused by the Cuccos, some new faces are going to be popping up in Mannaz Hall. On Day 384, a team of scientists will arrive, claiming to have been sent by Mithos. Whether this gesture is due to the things the candidates said to him, or to the fact that the servants complained about picking feathers out of the tapestries is unclear. But what is clear is that their objective is to try to fix the Grasp.
Of course, nothing goes as planned in this game. And the scientists lack the mad spark of genius that Skokan possessed. So in their efforts to do some repair work…they’ll be causing something curious to happen.
The multiverse is occasionally a redundant place. Certain faces seem to be repeated over and over again. And in trying to fix the Grasp, the scientists will accidentally cause some of these repeated faces to be superimposed onto the candidates.
What does this mean? Stepping away from the poetic language of plotting, it means it’s time to focus a little on your character’s PB. On Day 384, candidates may find their bodies possessed by other characters from the multiverse who share their face. For example, let’s say someone plays Barney from How I Met Your Mother. Barney is played by Neil Patrick Harris. Neil Patrick Harris also played Doctor Horrible from Doctor Horrible’s Sing-Along-Blog. On Day 384, if Barney’s player opts into the plot, then Barney’s body will be temporarily taken over by Doctor Horrible.
The effects of the botched repair work will last two days in game, Days 384-385 (May 19-24). The Nysgod scientists will quickly realize their error and reverse it in that time.
And, of course, no complicated plot is complete without some FAQs…
This plot really isn’t for me, can I opt out?
Absolutely. The effect of the botched repair will affect candidates at random. If you don’t wish to have your character affected, they simply won’t be part of the random sampling.
Does my character have to be possessed by a character also played by their PB?
Yes. However, to keep things a little flexible, age will not matter. In our Barney example, your character could be possessed by Doctor Horrible, Mark Cohen, or Doogie Howser. Any character played by Neil Patrick Harris at any age will work. For the purposes of this plot, your character may be possessed by an underage character, however, if there is any smut involved, please take it to a private journal or community.
What does this possession mean in terms of character powers?
The character possessing your character will retain the powers of the body they’re in. They will not bring over any unique or different powers. Nor will they bring over any weapons or tools.
What does this possession mean in terms of character memories?
The character possessing your candidate will not have access to their memories. So they’ll have no clue where they are and they may not realize they’re in someone else’s body.
What happens to my character’s consciousness, while they’re being possessed?
They’ll be watching the whole thing. And at the end of the plot, once they’re de-possessed, they’ll remember everything their body did.
Will characters be made aware of what’s happening?
There won’t be any kind of announcement from the NPCs. Candidates will figure out something’s wrong based on the strange behavior of their friends. Any non-possessed candidate will be free to make any kind of announcement they wish.
Can possessed characters use the network?
Yup.
Can my character be possessed by an alternate version of themselves?
For this plot, the answer is no. If you’re playing Spock, you cannot be possessed by the evil Mirror Universe version of Spock with a beard. It must be a different person.
My PB is a musician/model/dancer who doesn’t have any acting roles. I want to have them possessed. What do I do?
If, and only if this is your situation and you don’t want to opt out, you may create a character to possess them. However, you must spell it out completely in the plotting post and, as stated above, it cannot be an alternate version of the same character.
Can my character be possessed by the actor/singer/model they’re played by?
No. We’re not going to allow anyone to be possessed by a real person. However, if by some strange set of circumstances, your PB played a parody of themselves, we will allow it. For example, Neil Patrick Harris played a fictional version of himself in the Harold and Kumar movies. That is a character who could do some possessing.
Did this whole plot idea stem from a plurk conversation?
Hell yes.
What the frick is going on with the trial anyway? I thought that was a part of the metaplot here!
It is. I’m slowing down the pacing of the trial a little, in order to allow every PC to get as much as they can out of their conversations with NPCs before it begins. It has not been forgotten!
Wizera, your FAQs suck and you don’t know how to make a tuna fish casserole.
I’m afraid both of these are true. But I don’t like tuna fish. What I do like is answering questions, so feel free to leave them in the designated subthread. Otherwise, go ahead and use this post as a plotting post! Also, please make sure to be sensitive to canon points and spoilers when plotting.

Tom Felton plays all sorts of people it would be fun to do terrible things withreasons. Right now, unless I think of something better, he's getting taken over by Erich Blunt from Murder in the First. Who is basically a big jerkface.Lydia Martin will not be getting possessed, because Holland Roden doesn't do enough. So she'll just be hanging around, thinking everyone is really really weird.
I'm open to anything and everything with these two. Bonus points if Erich makes Draco's friends hate him a little.

Charlotte Howard will totally be getting possessed by Stacie Monroe from Hustle. Though Carmilla from Sleepy Hollow would be fun, but she's not all that different from Charlotte. Stacie, however, is rather different. And will probably flip her shit at being a vampire. Besides, everyone needs a grifter, right? Right.
...yes I did consider sending Helena into Charlotte's body but that would just get confusing, wouldn't it? :P

Rachel
Tara: Tara won't be changing since I haven't seen Amber Benson in much else. It probably would be better for her to try to fix things magically anyway.

Devi - Since crafting a whole new character for her isn't going to happen, she'll be left unaffected and looking at you all like maybe she needs to find some really good drugs to deal with things.
Come at me bro, I want it all.

Yes, Mal will be turning into Captain Hammer. Yes, he will be arrogant to a fault. Yes, he will be bursting out into song. Enjoy.
Link Staying Link. Can't really do much with a video game character.

Siri Tachi is staying as is, because half the fun would be Obi-Wan dealing with his girlfriend suddenly being a viking, and alas, 'tis not to be. So she will be the straight man this plot. And dealing with everyone suddenly feeling WRONG in the Force will be interesting, too.
