The Quest for Casey
The random number generator has spoken. And joining Insa on the quest to find Casey will be...
...drum roll please...
1. Spike
2. Zoey Westen
3. Pasha Chekov
The log will be going up on Sunday morning! In the meanwhile though, I have a few things for the participants to do, to prepare.
First of all, please take a few minute to either Google image search or Polyvore up a D&D style costume for your character. It does not have to be gender specific. It also does not (and probably should not be) something your character would wear willingly. This will be a part of the plot.
Second, if you could, give me a few sentences about your character's father. I'm looking for a quick, down and dirty physical description, mannerisms, and relationship to your character. Please note that your character does not have to know/remember this if their backstory doesn't permit it.
Finally, in the interest of moving the log along as fast as possible, please consider your schedule for the next two-ish weeks and let everyone know if there are any days or evenings you think you might be able to boomerang. If the players have corresponding days, we'll try to boomerang on them. If not, no matter!
I'm very much looking forward totorturing taking you all out on an adventure!

Andrei Victorivich Chekov looks remarkably similar to his daughter. He has curly brown hair that's short and greying at the sides and longer on the top. He has blue eyes and is tall and thin with broad shoulders and a straight military posture. He has a pronounced Russian accent like Pasha, with inflection on the Vs and Ws, and bites the inside of his cheek a lot. Andrei is startlingly intelligent and not at all afraid to show it, he likes everyone to know it in fact. He's also very Russian and will pull anyone up on anything he thinks rude or untoward.
Andrei passed away in a shuttle craft crash when Pasha was six so most of her early memories of him are very fond and she holds him in great reverence and aspires to be like him. She became a navigator to follow in his footsteps. They were very close when she was a child and he's one of the few people to not call her Pasha. Nicknames by Andrei for her are; Little duckling, Pols, Polly and he's pretty much the only one who calls her Polina. He would never refer to her as Pasha.
I'm free Monday and Friday all day.

Thomas Westen is a tall, well built man with short(ish) dark brown hair and hazel eyes. Most of the time he sports a close cropped beard.
Thomas Westen is Ed Quinn. He is an intelligent (extremely so), friendly sort of fellow, with a huge grin and laid back demeanour. He carries himself very confidently, though he is just as quick to slouch and generally relax. His accent is slightly more pronounced than Zoey’s, but only just. His sense of humour is quite similar to Zoey’s; the wry, sarcastic, snarky sort of humour. And it’s obvious where she gets her smirk from. His nicknames for Zoey are thus; Zo, Iru (shortened form of her middle name, Irulan), Bookworm, and Little falcon.Zoey has always been very close to her father; and very much takes after him in a lot of ways. He was the one who introduced her to her love of books; instead of reading the usual sort of stories to her before bed, he was reading Dune, The Colour Out of Space, Dracula. That sort of thing. He taught her how to throw knives, and started her on sword fighting. And when Cassandra Westen died, they became even closer. Her relationship with him was always a good one, and when he vanished she felt his loss keenly and searched for him without hesitation. His disappearance, and her inability to do anything to prevent it despite her gift, is a very big part of her, and her drive.
She feels as though she failed him.no subject
I think this is suitably embarrassing? As an exaggeration of Spike's style gone wrong?
And I have a question about the father thing. Spike doesn't really remember his, and I know that doesn't matter for your purposes. HOWEVER. I *do* wonder whether you'd like me to come up with his backstory, or give you Angelus, who is a father figure and holds prominent place in terms of those issues for Spike. Obviously it's up to what you guys need this for! Let me know.
As for schedules, basically I'm tied up in the evenings through next Saturday, free most mornings, and after the 16th could schedule evenings if others were free!

(Love the outfit, btw!)

Basically, yes, Angelus was Spike's mentor even if Dru was his sire, because Dru was a nutter. BUT. Angelus was also very abusive and somewhat resentful of his crazy kid's progeny, and what I consider a primary aspect of their dynamic is how nothing Angelus did could cow Spike. Spike was always so boisterous and OUT THERE and human and Spikey, and no matter what Angelus did to hurt or abuse him, Spike would take it and laugh. I don't mean he resisted, or stopped it. He "won," in a sense, by never acting defeated, no matter how broken down he got. And Angelus couldn't figure that out.
