Remember, this is just a fun meme so you can ship things that would NEVER SEE THE LIGHT OF DAY in game. Yay for no in-character consequences to bad decisions.

SCENARIOS
1. Stupid Cupid Your characters stumble upon a room in the temple that is dedicated to Berkano, which is the rune of love and new beginnings. Think Midsummer Night's Dream. Your characters may be close friends, strangers, or sworn enemies. Whatever the case is, they are now suddenly and inexplicably in complete and total love. They may or may not be aware that this makes no sense, but they can't help themselves.

2. Some Like It Hot Forget love and new beginnings. Your characters have ACTUALLY stumbled upon a room in the temple that is dedicated to Kenaz, the rune of fire, passion, and sex. There's no stopping you, even if you tried. Luckily, the room is prepared for that, and comes equipped with a bed. Whether or not you guys make it that far across the room is another question.

3. I Can Hear The Bells Your characters are getting married. Maybe it's true love, maybe it's to get out of marrying Tristan, maybe you're being forced into it and this ship is a little dub-con, or maybe it's because you accidentally participated in some Nysgod ritual and weren't aware of its implications. Either way, the wedding is about to happen or just has. How do you feel about that?

4. I Don't Want To Go Your character has been determined to NOT be the one for Tristan. Whether or not they like it, they're being sent home. Do they choose to spend it with a close friend, with the one they love? Or maybe, do they decide to finally tell that person they've always had a crush on just how they feel? You only have one night left, what you do with it is up to you.

5. The First Time Your characters are interested in each other and it's time to do something about it. Either the first date, the first kiss, the first I love you....or some other significant first. Whatever it is, it's definitely time to take that step. So who's going to take the initiative?

6. The Morning After Your characters definitely went at it. Maybe it's the first time, maybe they're cheating on someone, maybe it was out of anger. Whatever the case, for some reason, it was significant and you're going to have to talk about it. Good morning, Starshine! The earth says it's time for some cuddling and/or awkward conversation.

7. Potpourri Have another idea? Pregnancy, proposal, accidental body contact, trapped together, caught in the rain, hurt/comfort, etc? Go for it! Make your own scenarios up and run with them.

Yes, there is more then enough for two. [ He spoke as he walked over to her and held it out over her, not caring if the rain pelted him.] Come, miss Sulu it is more fun out here in the rain then under the tree.

Thank you, Mr- [Only after it slips out of her mouth does she realize that she only knows Dorian by his given name. She should have thought to ask one of her crewmates to fill in the gaps. Though, it was more fun learning about him in bits and pieces anyway.]

I am a fan of formalities. Usually. [It is easy to fall into step with the man, strolling along in the rain with only an umbrella and each other for company, Sulu doesn't exactly forget where they are, but things like this help keep her spirits up.]

I will keep this in mind for future reference. The strange ear device takes away so much in the way of manners in class so in light of that, you have my humble apologies. Manners are something usually hard wired into me.

[ He offered his arm to her after a few steps, it felt right after all. Being so close under the umbrella together. ]

This place is really quite lovely when it rains.

[It did feel right. Taking his arm with no hesitations or reservations. Sulu might not know how she felt about his being a vampire, but when he was set to be charming, she couldn't help but like him.]

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a good joke as well. [Or a bad one. Sulu was fond of telling really terrible jokes at times.] I think I just took the ideals of starfleet to heart at an early age.

...you know what the strange thing is. The rain smells the same. Or am I just crazy?

[ It wasn't often people let him play the charming gentlemen as he so loved to do. He smiled at her when she took his arm walking at her side.]

I would very much love to know the ideas of Starfleet, I only know the bits that Jane and Spock have offered to me and that still leaves holes in the story. I do know that Spock is from as many years in the future from where I am, as I am old. Two Hundred and forty nine years in my future. I am endlessly curious.

[ Why? he doesn't expect to live that much longer.]

It does actually, it's a bit odd. The flowers and rain are so much like home. Yet I know they are not. And don't let a soul tell you insanity is bad. Its freedom.

If you get me started, I might never stop talking. [The warning was infused with a goodly amount of teasing as well. While it was true, Sulu could converse a night away with the best of them. Endless chatter wasn't a skill she'd honed either.]

Starfleet is.. it's about striving to be the best version of yourself. It can be hard to live up to those standards sometimes, but exploration and peace, respecting others, cooperation in the face of challenges. Those are what we try to epitomize. [Generally speaking. There were some obvious exceptions.]

I don't know. Being out of my own control sounds like a terrifying thing.

I have nothing but time. I do not mind hearing everything you feel like sharing. [ He replied in a confident tone. He liked to hear about peoples lives. It was like reading stories that he had more interest in.]

Ahh, like futuristic explorers? I can understand that. I must ask, you do not enslave species you find do you?

It used to terrify me in my days before I was embraced. I worked hard to always be prim and proper. Then in time I realized there is no fear in simply going forth and doing what you wish. There is no second guessing.

We are also a military branch, subject to Federation interests, but it's a voluntary coalition of planets, we don't seek to grow our territory outward. Slavery was abolished as a human practice many years ago, from my time. [Sulu tilts her head and thinks for a moment. Because it's true that not everything is the utopia that she describes.]

There are some cultures that engage in slave trade, but Federation policy requires a ceasing of the practice before the people can be inducted in. Not everyone chooses to join the Federation, as you might guess.

[Coming from a point of history, she's curious to know his opinion on slavery as well. The concept that he might willingly embrace insanity is something that she doesn't know what to do with, just yet.] ...you've been through a lot in your lifetime. Haven't you?

I remember when the emancipation proclamation was announced. I was in south Georgia at the time. People were very cross, but it was a good thing, people needed their freedom. All men are created equal was not limited to race or gender. I firmly believe the congress that wrote that bill used men in the biblical sense as in the whole of the human race... and I am now rambling. However what i meant to say is I am glad to know such practices have not come back.

[ Dorian however likes to picture it as just what she described.]

Understandable, not everyone is open minded as they should be.

You could say that, I have mostly just watched the world move forward. [ he offered her a smile then.] I was fifteen years old when the Revolution broke out, if that gives you an idea of it all.

[The words were memorized with an obvious sense of pride, even though Sulu ducks her head sheepishly when she trails off. and who's mun has a federation history book] ..sort of, I'm better at fleet history than other kinds though.

[ Dorian has lost a lot of details over his years but the big stuff remains. He didn't mind answering any questions. He had in fact offered to share what he remembered with Spock once before.]

I see the parallels in it as you say it. There was a time I knew the whole thing by heart. We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

[ Then he sighed.] And that is where things get fuzzy sadly. Though I must confess I am much more interested in your history then the history I lived through.

[Sulu reaches out with her free hand, catching a few drops of rain in her palm and then letting them slide off of her fingertips.]

There's so much of it. Many evening's worth of stories, in fact.

I could readily approve of such a way of spending nights.

[ he was the one to go silent this time. He had been utterly depressed before he drove out to Phoenix and ended up getting pulled to the temple. He ahd thought of ending his own existence a few times even. Yet he didn't wanna say that.] As long as I avoid fire, sunlight or breaking the masquerade it is very possible that I may just. My maker, she was nearly four centuries old when she met her end.

[The reaction wouldn't be kept to herself for long, an impulse to reach over and tap her wet finger on Dorian's jaw is too strong to resist. It also served as a way to keep the mood easygoing.]

So maybe you'll live long enough to see the formation of your own Federation. If your world goes that way.

..what's the masquerade?

[ He couldn't help but chuckle when she tapped him with the wet finger.] Here I figure it would have been warmer after touching your hand not chillier.

It is possible, if my world heads that way. There has been tales for many years of an end of days coming. At least for us kindred. I don't know how much I believe in it but they are pretty convinced.

[ He spun the umbrella above them a moment, not uncovering them just making the water on it fly all directions.]

The Masquerade is the rules we have to live by, like the name implies its much like a masquerade party if your time still has those.... umm. An easy way to explain. [ He smiled then looking down at her.] We pretend we are human still. We are not to let humans know what we are or to make too much of a wave our inner wars even have to been kept in silence so not to alarm the normal people of our exsistance. To break the masquerade is to bring the royalty down on you and certain true death follows to any Kindred who fails to keep up their play.

Here I see no point in it, this place does not allow for secrets such as mine.

Your skin just wasn't expecting it. [Sulu's good humor is a nearly universal thing. Especially when her responsibilities are light.]

Oh, I see. [In some ways it reminded her of the prime directive. Control of access to information for the benefit of those left out of the loop.] ..I think you're right about a place like this having it's own set of rules though. Technically, I should have cleared it with Jane, to see how much we can go around telling people about Starfleet. In our universe, we have code of conduct to follow.

[And then she laughs at the twist of the umbrella, amused and pleased.] ..now I feel like jumping into the puddles, I haven't done that since I was a kid.

That would explain a bit. [ Dorian smile a bit and kept spinning the umbrella above them since it had caught his attention. At time he could be like a cat. Caught by something shiny and stuck on it for a while.]


I doubt Jane cares if you tell me. She's told me quite a bit herself, however she knows that I am not one to share others secrets. Think of me as a reverse pope, you can tell me your sins and no one knows. However I can not offer salvation, thus the reverse pope. I think I would look pretty awesome in the popes outfit though.

[ Blood would be hard to get out.] Why not? If you haev the urge, do it. Never hold back, that leaves room for doubt. Free yourself Miss Sulu.

Yeah? I think the hat might throw off your air a bit. [Sulu respected religions, of course, more than the basic way that diplomatic relations were based on. She just wasn't a practitioner of western religions. The idea of confessing to Dorian was a novelty in more ways than one.]

I never have doubts. [While that might be a small exaggeration. Sulu was serious, even as she smiled and slipped her arm from his... she had one particular puddle in mind, but she wouldn't be happy just running into it. No. There was a bit of showmanship in the way that Sulu sprang forward and began a cartwheel, then a hand spring, landing square in the puddle and laughing as the splash finished soaking her through.]

[ He chuckled at that.] You may be right, but I could mayhaps pull it off as well. Still some people might get offended so I'd best leave that train of thought where it is.

A woman after my own heart. [ He teased as she slipped her arm free and put on the show. Dorian let the umbrella fall so he could clap for her.] That was bloody brilliant!

[ He eyed the puddle a moment before making his way over, as long as it didn't cover his boot completely he'd be okay. He moved two step back before jumping both of those big black boots landing in the water splashing it up he scrunched his face a bit as the water hit him.]

[Sulu tilted her face up at the rain. This was the kind of thing that you missed when the majority of your time was spent in space. One hand reached out blindly for Dorian's]

Can you dance, Mr Carver?

[Dance with her in the rain. In the middle of this huge puddle. As the forgotten umbrella began to fill with water.]

[ When he had seen the hand reaching out he reached out and met her midway. Playfully bowing as she asked her question.]

Milady, I am old as dirt, of course I can dance. What do you think we did for fun before electric lights and television?

[ He was half joking, but mostly serious. Stepping up and the other hand moved to her waist he smiled.]

Well, Miss Sulu, may I have the honor of this dance then?

I cannot be certain, but I'm sure that before television there was no such thing as 'fun'.

[Sulu set her free hand on his shoulder, beginning to hum something with a simple beat. She was no professional singer, or even close (like Uhura) but she had a strong voice and a natural sense of timing.]

Trust me, their was. Some of my best adventures came before the car or television.

[ When she started to hum he lead them into a simple waltz.]

Midnight carriage chases, balls of the aristocrats, meeting the poets and writers of their day. And for myself watching blues evolve and seeing the world change. I watched a nation grow, then nearly split and heal again. I watched slavery be abolished a great feat for the lives of hundreds upon thousands of innocent boys. If you ask me, the world grew dull with television. Who writes letters anymore? Poetry is lost.

[ He moved as he spoke.]
