The DIY Grasp Plot Thickens!
The second half of the Do-It-Yourself Grasp story is on the horizon, so this mod post is here to tell you exactly what's going to happen and allow you to make plans for how your characters interact with the terrible, terrible things to come.
Early in the morning of Day 100 (January 23), Casey is going to assemble the pieces of the DIY Grasp that the PCs have been working on. She'll be putting things together in the backyard, outside of the candidate house. For the love of SCIENCE, she will then, of course, activate the Grasp to see what it can do. What it will do is cause terrible things to happen. See, while the original Grasp, designed by Skokan, draws in people who would be compatible mates for Tristan, the PC version has a few missing pieces. So instead of pulling in potential mates, it will be pulling in completely incompatible monsters that Tristan could never actually marry.
The critters drawn in by the DIY Grasp will then proceed to run wild through the city of Thurisaz, pretty much ripping apart anyone and anything they encounter. The mods will be allowing players to control the monsters as they desire. So it's going to be up to you, yes, specifically you, to stop them!
The Critters
Moblins: These bulldog-headed trolls loom about seven feet tall, carrying spears and nasty tempers. Of all the critters to come through, they'll be the most organized, forming ranks very quickly and defending the ground that they claim. Which, in this case, will be the Serpent's Head. Fortunately, Moblins are carbon-based monsters and can pretty much be destroyed any way you like, be it magic or blunt force or dropping a piano on them. And you will want to destroy them, because they definitely want to destroy you. These guys just live for destruction. They don't have anything resembling sentience, other than a strange military organization. Think of them like ants. Giant. Angry. Murderous ants.
Ebene: These guys are nasty. In their natural state, they may look like liquid mercury, but these guys are shape shifters. Although voiceless, they can, for ten minutes at a time, look like any living thing. Even your room mate. Even your girlfriend. In fact, the only way to tell they're shape shifters is to cut them and watch them bleed silver liquid. They may not want to eat you, but they can, literally, grab hold of you and drown you in their liquid forms. Like all liquids, they can be contained by a sealed container, but even the smallest micro-fracture will allow them to escape. The best way to kill them is to freeze them, using science or magic. Otherwise, you'd better bag them, guys.
Daleks: That's right. Daleks. They're out to destroy anything they view as a threat. Which means you. They're also probably going to try to take over the city. Watch out for the hardware. They'll exterminate you dead, shooting electrical beams of an exceedingly high voltage. Best way to get rid of them? Make them go boom, of course. And spare parts can be salvaged. And if you don't have your Acme dynamite kit handy, aim for their eye.
Wendigos: A face that only a mother could love. A Wendigo is a former human whose cannibalism has transformed him into a creature with superhuman strength and speed that feasts on human flesh. The bad news? It's going to try to eat you. Either it will start to munch on you on the spot, or else it will club you on the head and drag you off to some secluded area, hang you from the ceiling like a cured ham, and save you for a midnight snack. Unless, of course, you have friends willing to rescue you. The good news? Pretty much any kind of natural or supernatural fire will take a Wendigo out, quickly.
The siege of the critters will last for two in-game days, ending the morning of Day 102 (January 29). By this point, a lot of Thurisaz will be damaged and Casey will be missing (gasp!). There will be an optional side-plot dealing with Casey. More information to come later on.
This post is now for you to use as a plotting post. There will be an opening narrative/log kicking off the plot, but players are more than welcome to make their own logs. Your characters can kill monsters, get horribly injured, huddle in foxholes together...anything you want within the confines of the city. Feel free to ping the mods with any questions. And as always, we encourage you to form new CR and plot with new people. With a game as small as ours, it's important to interact with everyone!

Wendigos sob
Naturally she's going to be right in the thick of things, she's a hunter born and bred, and thus will be available for absolutely anything, be it completely being out of her depth with Daleks, helping with the monsters of the deep or just generally being a self sacrificing twerp and getting hurt all over everywhere.
Have at her, people? Suggest me things *_*
Re: Wendigos sob
Diana's probably going to be fighting the Moblins, using her powers to scare them away from attacking civilians.

Two Dean's and Sam? Pretty sure that supernatural piece of crap doesn't stand a chance.!

OKAY Dean is available for all the rescuing, monster killing, and general heroics. Since the Wendigos are what he's most familiar with, he'll probably be most useful in that end of the spectrum, but he'll take on anything given the opportunity.
If you need him to be a big damn hero or want team up with him, let me know here!

Diana (and Insa?)
Insa will be available if requested. She's got her bow and arrows and she's got a stockpile of spears in the house, that anyone can take if they so desire.
Casey is disappeared. A side quest will be announced after the plot ends.

Tasha will be fighting.
Gaila will most likely be trying to hide out and find someone to protect her.
Pasha is most likely to get herself into trouble and in need of help.

He's not a great front liner, but he's going to be jumping Moblins wherever they are. He's also going to try taking on Wendigo at times. He's going to fail hard against Daleks and Ebene.
He'll also try helping people he sees that need it. So if anyone wants to catch a werecoyote stricking with tooth and claw, as well as taunting monsters, let me know!

Pepper has many skills, but hand-to-hand combat is not one of them. She is fully available for being captured, as that's fairly canonical.
Adriana can tell you about Ebene and Moblins, so if anyone wants to ask her, she'll tell you how to take them down.

Spike and Tony
Tony is a superhero and all that shit and he'll be totally involved--but he's without his suit, so that's a problem. MODLY THINGS: Is it possible to get a heads up on what he might have been able to learn/produce in his time here, if he's been studying the tech?
That said, if anyone thinks it'd be funny to rescue the great Tony Stark, I'm open for that, too.

That said, Ben has been a leader for his entire adult life protecting people. So him knowing that there are already hunters out there, if no one wants to take charge of it, he will probably work on getting those non-fighters to safety, get the first floor of the house barricaded, etc.
Anyone want to be rescued by the white eyed boy on an adrenaline high?

From an OOC perspective, though, writing battle/fighting/action-heavy violence tags is something that is akin to having teeth pulled for me, and I've been doing almost nothing but that in my other games for the past couple of weeks. :/ So...um...yeah, my tags will likely be very slow in coming if anyone does want to thread with me in that capacity at all.

It just needs to be in or near the form of an order so it gets past the reaction of "Ohshitfuck monsters" and "Ohshitfuck I'm not allowed to fight."

On the whole fighting front... I love fight scenes but they are a pain in the ass to write, so I may not be the most prompt of taggers at times.

Christine will be at the clinic, treating all your injuries. I'm willing to have her need rescued at some point, maybe from a wendigo who's strung her up for later?
Red will fight, using knife, spear, and bow and arrows if she can get her hands on the last two. She'll protect people, but probably get injured at some point.
As for the weapons, beyond Insa's spears lying around, and, say, a kitchen knife, where can the candidates find these weapons?
no subject
Does Christine know Diana's a vampire, btw? If not, SHE SHOULD FIND OUT.

Cho Takahashi | OC
She also has some pretty badass offensive magic, and since this is a life or death situation, she's not going to hold back with it even if it means it gives the Nysgods a clear idea of what she can do. Ace up the sleeve is only worth having if no one gets hurt by you keeping it.
Also, for anyone who's not comfortable writing out fighting, I'm totally willing to control the monsters and other scenery in a fight scene and let you just respond to what's happening to your character so your tags can be less about the fight and more about mental reactions. Cause I know some people have a hard time with that.
