This is the special Thurisaz edition of a series of VENT EVENTS that will be happening in ToS. What is a Vent Event, you say? Glad you asked! There are not a lot of windows or doors leading outside in the Waiting Room, so the air that circulates through the building is created in a control room and highly regulated.

Of course, things can go wrong.

"But Kally," you might say, "Our characters are not in the Waiting Room. How can this thing come to be?" Well, funerals don't happen often in Thurisaz, but there's a mandatory day of peace involved when they do happen. To help enforce this, they release a drug through the air in the city on days of memorials, such as the one happening on Day 107 to honor those who died in the attack on the city. This drug will release all anger, resentment, or stress from your character. Any such negative emotions will be replaced with a strong love for everything and anything. Inigo Montoya and the Six Fingered Man? Yeah, definitely going to be hugging their feelings out this afternoon. Link and Ganondorf? Man, it's all just been a silly misunderstanding, they're just going to hold hands as we enjoy this lovely weather.

This will last for one in-game day, ending on the morning of Day 108 (February 16). As always, such events are voluntary and you can easily opt out. On the morning of Day 107, a gong will ring at the eleventh hour. When the gong rings a second time at the twelfth hour, the release of the drug will stop. Any characters who do not go outside and stay away from open windows during this time will not be affected.

This is the fourth in a series of VENT EVENTS that will be happening in ToS. What is a Vent Event, you say? Glad you asked! There are not a lot of windows or doors leading outside in the Waiting Room, so the air that circulates through the building is created in a control room and highly regulated.

Of course, things can go wrong.

At one point this week, some extra chemicals got released in the water supply in the Purple Room. For the most part, your character won't notice or be affected--that is, unless they use ice cubes from the ice dispenser in the Purple Room. If they do use an affected ice cube, they will experience extreme paranoia and delusions for the next six hours. You can interpret this how you like. Perhaps your character is certain strangers are out to kill them. Perhaps they convince themselves that their significant other is cheating. Perhaps they're certain this is all a dream. On the other hand, they could be seeing ninjas running through the halls of the Waiting Room or see their roommates as zombies.

This will last for two weeks, ending on the evening of Day 78 (November 18). If you do not want your character involved, don't have them use ice for the next two weeks. Your characters can experience this effect as many or as few times as you wish. Feel free to post any questions you have here!

This is the thirdin a series of VENT EVENTS that will be happening in ToS. What is a Vent Event, you say? Glad you asked! There are not a lot of windows or doors leading outside in the Waiting Room, so the air that circulates through the building is created in a control room and highly regulated.

Of course, things can go wrong.

This week, some extra chemicals are being released to certain wings of the house. For the most part, your character won't notice or be affected--that is, unless they're in an infected room when the chemicals interact with steam. If your character spends much time in the green room this week, they will spend the next twenty-four hours unable to lie.  This is true whether someone asks something as mundane as how your character is doing or something as personal as asking for their darkest secrets.  Passing through the room briefly will be fine, but the prolonged exposure to the effected vents that would come from watching a movie or napping in the room will cause this.

This will last for two weeks, ending on the evening of Day 70 (October 23).  If you do not want your character involved, don't have them spending long periods of time in the green room.  Your characters can experience this effect as many or as few times as you wish.  Feel free to post any questions you have here!

This is the first in a series of VENT EVENTS that will be happening in ToS. What is a Vent Event, you say? Glad you asked! As mentioned elsewhere, there are not a lot of windows or doors leading outside in the Waiting Room, so the air that circulates through the building is created in a control room and highly regulated.

Of course, things can go wrong.

This week, some extra chemicals are being released to certain wings of the house. For the most part, your character won't notice or be affected--that is, unless they're in an infected room when the chemicals interact with steam. If your character bathes or showers in an infected bathroom, they will be extra giddy for the next 24 hours. Happiness, mirth, euphoria. This can also affect their judgment, as every decision they make will seem like the best decision they have ever made and this impaired judgment can also lead to a crisis not seeming as big of a deal as it should be.

This will last for two weeks, ending on the evening of Day 47.  If you do not want your character involved, assume they are bathing in an unaffected bathroom.  They can go through the 24 hour spurts of giddiness as many or as few times as you wish.  Feel free to post any questions you have here!
